Introducing artist Sue Lansbury. The natural environment and the knowledge that nothing stays still are the predominant and recurring themes and inspiration for her work. Frances Pollard has her pottery next to the Gallery. Her stoneware pots are thrown on the wheel before being decorated by hand. Frances Pollard set up Corfe Castle Pottery at Sandy Hill in 1999. Visitors can see Frances at work downstairs in the pottery, climbing the steep stairs rewards them with a display of finished pots in her showroom. She is a founding member of the Boilerhouse Gallery next-door, where more of her pots are exhibited . She appreciates her working environment with its backdrop of castle ruins, steam trains and the beauty of the natural surroundings. It’s a stimulating place for her to work with its community of artists. Our resident blacksmith, Alistair’s studio is the distinctive round brick building at the west of the site, part of the old united dairy infrastructure. Alistair runs well respected workshops introducing people to forging, and you can often hear the bell like tones of metal on anvil ringing around the site. #OTWARTAGALERIA Dominującym elementem Alei Armii Krajowej jest forma Andrzeja Matuszewskiego. W pasie zieleni oddzielającym jezdnię od chodnika autor umieścił na postumencie monumentalną rzeźbę, której bryłę tworzą trzy, dynamicznie ułożone na sobie, owalne elementy. Płaszczyznę każdego z owali Matuszewski ozdobił kawałkami chromowanej blachy, w której - jak w lustrze odbija się otoczenie. Kompozycja powstała podczas I Biennale Form Przestrzennych w 1965 roku. Jest to rzeźba należąca do najlepiej rozpoznawalnych i identyfikowanych przez mieszkańców Elbląga; spośród wszystkich form Otwartej Galerii była najczęściej reprodukowana na pocztówkach w latach 70. i 80. Her work has come on tremendously since she moved to a studio with windows in the old chicken shed - a bit of a must for a painter! She is influenced by the open skies and overwhelming landscapes, saying; "This gives me the opportunity to revisit an affection for painting; to find ways to represent the emotionality of the moment and prize out what the unconscious mind will surrender." We are also delighted that she will be part of 'The Instinct of Hope' Exhibition at Durlston Country Park open 25 May – 9 June. Throwback to my first Street art in 2014! It's been 10 yrs since I first let my self free on this medium. There is no freedom like street art. Street art is a vibrant expression of creativity and freedom for an artist. Standing next to my work, this wall kinda embodies the innovation and unrestricted self-expression that defines this medium. Street art transforms urban landscapes into open-air galleries, accessible to everyone and anyone. Chicabiとこいのぼり株式会社が運営する「MONOW（モノー）」にて、5月31日(金)にオープンギャラリーイベントを開催します。 --- 🔸MONOW（モノー）とは 2023年、千葉県印旛郡「酒々井町」にプレオープンした“実験的”なものづくり施設。 木々に囲まれた5万m2の敷地で自由に創作活動に没頭できます。 自然物と人工物。デジタルとアナログ。2Dと3D。 さまざまな作り手のひらめきが集まり、変化し続ける持続可能なクリエイティブプラットフォームを育てていきます。 @monow_park --- 🔹OPEN GALLERY EVENT 海野林太郎／田巻海 広大なMONOWそのものを、実験的な「ギャラリー」として楽しんでいただくイベントです。 今回は、2名のアーティストが参加。 ひとりは、自身の日常のリアリティに根差したものをモチーフに、映像作品やインスタレーションを展開する海野林太郎。 MONOWにて、6月の個展に向けて映像作品の制作と実験を行っています。 舞台となるのは、MONOWの上空。 実現不能なことを見せられることは、人に不思議な希望を与えてくれるもの。 そんなアイデアを元に織り成されるストーリーの一片です。 当日は、作品の題材をつかったパフォーマンスと、アーティストによるトークセッションも予定しています。 もうひとりは、街の記号的なモチーフを題材にした風景写真や、90年代から00年代にいたる日本の風景写真を参照した写真作品を手がける写真家・田巻海。 MONOWを取り囲む林や、多彩な草木が生み出す植物の様相、人工的な地形がつくるコンポジション。歴史の中で独特の発展を遂げた酒々井町のあり方。 元ゴルフ場という場でありながら、自然の活力も感じさせる、MONOWという「辺鄙な場所」の記録を継続しています。 今回のイベントでは、その記録を使った大型のオブジェを展示予定です。 --- 🔸開催概要 FOOD, CAMP, ARTIST’S PRESENTATION, AND MORE. ・日時 2024年5月31日(金) 15:30〜受付開始 *最終入場21:00 ・場所 千葉県印旛郡酒々井町墨1200 お車でお越しの場合：酒々井ICから県道77号を経由して約８分 電車でお越しの場合：JR総武本線 南酒々井駅からタクシーで５分、徒歩２５分 ※酒々井駅から送迎可。ご希望の方はお問い合わせください。（酒々井駅からタクシーも利用可能） ・参加申し込み方法 Peatixからチケット（無料）をお申し込みください。 🔗https://monowopengallery.peatix.com/ （ハイライトからもどうぞ） ※当日の飛び込み参加も可能です。 ※当日はキャンプ宿泊が可能です。テントをご持参ください。 ※キャンプ宿泊ご希望の方は、大人1名3,300円（税込）、子ども1名1,650円（税込）、5歳以下無料。 ・主催 株式会社Chicabi（チカビ） こいのぼり株式会社 ・ディレクター 大澤景 関口智子 皆様にお会いできることを楽しみにしております。 ご不明点は、お気軽にお問合せください。 --- 🔹参加アーティスト . 海野林太郎 美術家 兼 マテリアルショップ・カタルシスの岸辺 メディアと人間、社会と個人の関係について思考しながら、個人がもつ信じるものや見えている世界をいかに描けるかを軸として美術作品制作、発表している。近年の活動に、個展「マヌケだね 楽しい夜さ 好きだよ」( 銀座蔦屋書店、2022)」、「Phantasmapolis ー 2021 Asian Art Biennial」( 国立台湾美術館、磯村暖＋海野林太郎として) 、2023年より国際フェスティバル「科学と芸術の丘 」展示ディレクター。他にもマテリアルショップ「カタルシスの岸辺」のメンバーとしての活動や、長谷川白紙「草木」などの楽曲のミュージックビデオも手掛けている。 https://www.instagram.com/rintaro.unno（ @rintaro.unno ） https://eukaryote.jp/artist/rintaro_unno . 田巻海 1991年、山梨県生まれ。武蔵野美術大学大学院造形研究科終了。都市風景から構造物を抽出し再構成することで、目にするものの捉え難さを感覚し、自らの視覚の曖昧さを自覚するための作品を制作している。主な展覧会に、2020年「削除された図式/THE SIX MAGNETS」（Art Trace Gallery、2020年）「Untitled」（Printed Union、2019年）「Net」（The White、2019年）。受賞歴に2018年 写真 1_WALL 審査員奨励賞 鈴木理策選。 https://kaitamaki.com/ #monow #art #opengallery #opengalleryevent #artist #artevent #artistinresidence #RintaroUnno #KaiTamaki#海野林太郎#田巻海
