Na classe GTP no carro 5 Porsche 963, Alessio Picariello e Romain Dumas se juntam a Gianmaria Bruni e Neel Jani, formando um quarteto bem forte para a briga da vitória das 24h de Daytona. Será bastante interessante ver o retorno de Romain Dumas num protótipo Porsche depois de 8 anos, quando competiu de LMP1 da marca alemã no FIA WEC, inclusive vencendo as 24h de Le Mans de forma dramática com a quebra da Toyota no final da prova, e além disso foi campeão da categoria no mesmo ano. E não para por aí não, pois a Proton Competition aproveitou para anunciar o seu quarteto de pilotos no carro 55 na classe GTD com o Ford Mustang GT3. Gianmmarco Levorato, Corey Lewis, Ryan Hardwich e Dennis Olsen serão os pilotos a darem a conta do recado na etapa inicial da IMSA em Daytona.
