After a super-speedy stop in Singapore (where I spent a tenner on a Cold Brew with an ice cream float at Starbucks and had my dirty cup collected by a sentient robot), I flew Singapore Air’s less glam little sister @flyscoot to Kuala Lumpur. . This was the first of two trips to the Malaysian capital and, as it was only for one night, I treated myself to a room @tradershotelkl slap bang in the city centre. I got a bargain rate online, but because I am such a mark, I was upsold to a club room on check-in. A high floor (31), snacks and booze in the lounge and a mega buffet breakfast for an extra £20 was a deal - but did I really NEED it? . By the time I made it from the airport, it was mid-afternoon and chucking it down, so I ditched the sightseeing to chill after my epic journey, get my money’s worth at the club lounge happy hour and take in views of the iconic #petronastowers from every angle: my room, the lounge, poolside at the Sky Bar. . Because I have a spidey-sense for cocktails, my first night in town coincided with the last night of KL Cocktail Week. Coincidence, I promise! So, I headed over to @fskualalumpur to check out some events. . Started in @bartrigona where @employeesonlysg had a takeover. Beautiful bar, beautiful cocktails, beautiful people - including those who helped me with recommendations for the rest of my trip (shout outs to @heartbymayne and @chrismarshall666 !), starting with a trip upstairs to @verbarkl . Still thinking about how strange yet awesome this curry puff cocktail at Bar Trigona is. The Curry And Cacao cocktail is, for me, the standout new drink in the new Colour Me Curious cocktail. They actually blend the Four Seasons KL’s own housemade curry puffs and turn it into their own falernum syrup, and also a cacao nib-infused Malbec wine, with a bottom base of rum and bourbon. It’s a combination that sounds strange, but works really really well for some reason. I especially loved the new 'Foraged through Malaysia' concept, where we could sip our way around Peninsula Malaysia, as well as Sabah, Sarawak, and surrounding islands. We got to try from the Winter menu when we visited post Christmas, which were tropical fruit inspired. We had the Winter Melon (Monkey Shoulder whisky, beeswax, Winter Melon mint sauvignon blanc, sparkling water) and the Ciku (Glenfiddich 12 years, Cascara, Ciku, Trigona honey, all spice bitters). #bartrigona #asias50bestbars #malaysiabestbar
