#8373 Rorschach Pareidolia (2024) (Canada) The annual triple dry hopped quadruple IPA from Rorschach is a slapper this year. Coming in at 11%, it rocks Galaxy, Citra, Nelson Sauvin and Vic Secret, it pours hella murky with a pillowy head and a candied stone fruit nose, it’s insanely silky with dank citrus, gooseberry and passionfruit vibes, it doesn’t taste a drop over 8%, it’s so damn fluffy, a touch of pine, wrapping in a juicy, dry, citrusy finish. Spectacular. One of the best of the style I’ve had to date.
#8372 Counterpart Talking To The Moon (Canada) Big up Bruno Mars. Back home and getting into this gem from Counterpart with Simcoe and Freestyle Motueka. Coming in at 6.5%, it pours opaque with a fluffy head and a dank, citrusy nose, it’s creamy and juicy with mango, tangerine and pine grapefruit vibes, it’s a little pithy and piney with some green, almost hop burn notes, it’s smooth and sweet with a dusty, tropical finish. Killer.
#8371 Mascot Juicy J (Canada) Out here at HotDocs to catch @mntntp’s incredible documentary and they had an IPA from Mascot I hadn’t had - dope. Coming in at 5.7%, it rocks Citra, Cryo Citra and Motueka, the nose is all dank citrus, I’m sipping from the can so I can’t see it but I’m getting mango, grapefruit and more dank tangerine vibes, it’s a little over 2 months old so I imagine it’s not its full self but it’s tropical and smooth, juicy as advertised, wrapping in a dry, citrusy finish. Solid stuff.

Urbanaut - Fresh Hop Motueka Hazy IPA 6% ABV Brewery location - Auckland, New Zealand 🇳🇿 𝕍𝕚𝕤𝕦𝕒𝕝 - Bright orange with a fizzy carb and white frothy head 𝔸𝕣𝕠𝕞𝕒 - A bouquet of citrus popping on the snout 🐽 𝕋𝕒𝕤𝕥𝕖 - Zingy lemon and lime with a smooth slightly resinous finish Soft pillowy mouthfeel, super tingly carbonation and a prickly citrus fresh hop zing on the tongue. I may be biased (massive Motueka hop fanboy😅) , but this is maybe my favourite fresh hop brew I've tried this season 👌😍 Awesome can by @optimal_volume 😊👌 Hops used in this brew - Motueka My rating 4.5 / 5 on @untappd 🍺 .

Das India Pale Lager in der Braukurs Edition vom @heimathafenerfurt zeigt sich im Glas in goldgelbem Gewand mit super stabiler Schaumkrone. Daraus steigt ein herrlich fruchtiger Zitrusfruchtflair. Der Alkoholgehalt liegt bei 6,0% ABV und die Stammwürze bei 14.2°P. Hier werden die Geschmacksknospen mit einem wahnsinnig intensiven Grapefruit und Zitrusaroma verwöhnt. Dazu kommt eine ordentliche Portion Bitterkeit im Abgang, die sich noch eine Weile am Gaumen festsetzt. Fazit: Ein mega gelungenes India Pale Lager, welches mein Kollege und Freund @heavyhero im Rahmen seines Braukurses in Erfurt bei Jan und seiner Crew gebraut hat. I går blev i snydt for ”StoutSunday” – Så lad os bare kalde denne mandag for ”Mørkets Mandag”, da jeg i dag præsentere jer for et styks lækker sort Imp. Pastry Stout der har hygget i diverse tønder samt fået lidt forskellige tilsætninger i slutfasen. Vi skal i dag kigge på ”3 Sons / Modern Times Brûléed Tones” – som de skriver ”Our collaboration with Modern Times. This is a blend of 12 year old Elijah Craig and 15 year old Old Forester Wheated bourbon barrel aged stouts. The beer rested in barrels for over 18 months before being treated with Vanuatu vanilla beans, Korintje cinnamon bark and burnt sugar. “ Jeg kan kun sige – NØJ EN LÆKKER SAG! Bedst er, kanellen bliver på intet tidspunkt for meget. Jeg frygter altid alt med kanel eller Tonka, da jeg ærligt talt er godt træt og mættet af deres aromatiske kvaliteter – men i dagens øl, der rammes Bullseye på balancen imellem fade, tilsætninger og base øllet. Du får din gennemsnitlige BA Imp. Stout på udseende – Mørkebrunt næsten sort med hurtigt forsvindende beige/mocca farvet skum. På aromaen får du et kæmpe sanse bombenetment – først får du milde men fremtrædende afrundet vibes af vanilje, kanel, mørk chokolade, brunt sukker samt karamel – men så kommer fadende frem, og de er virkelig in there. Loads of Bourbon, hvor du får lidt woody spicyness, kokos, forkøllet træ samt varme som nogle måske vil finde Boozy – men det er på ingen måde Boozy. Kanel kommer atter til syne sidst I tåren, men den er behagelig og ikke noget der fuldkommen overtager billedet. Men altså, hvis det var creme brulée der blevet sigtet efter, så blev der godt nok skudt forbi – den er langt mere henad kagen ”Den du ved nok” der lige har fået et splash kanel, hvor du nyder kagen med lille glas Bourbon on the side. 4,75/5,00. vil jeg godt skyde efter dagens øl. Den eneste grund til den ikke får de sidste 0,25 points er, at den slet slet ikke smager af creme brulée. Skål og god mandag yall!

It’s been a nice couple weekends making some updates to the backyard. We’re glad to have a nice spot for sheltering from the sun, and Liam is glad to have a larger slide than the one he had before - he’s still hesitant about the swings. And the brew that proved to be the reward for Sunday’s work is the one featured front and center! Sourish Fish Gummy Sour from New Jersey Beer Co @njbeerco . Although @stheysher_rainsford and I were curious whether the color would resemble that of a Swedish fish, the flavor, at least, was pretty accurate. A very juicy sour beer with nice notes of strawberry, lingonberry, and cherry, which combine to offer an accurate likeness to a Swedish fish candy.
