One year ago today, Mr Houndstooth drove to PA to pick up a “Greyhound Cross” with a name he couldn’t resist. After the DNA test — because I couldn’t get over his Isaac Asimov neck fluff and crazy wiry fur! — we learned that Obi-Wan is actually more Whippet than anything else though he is 37% Greyhound. Last year I fostered this beautiful boy Sully for Carolina Basset Hound Rescue. He was surrendered because he killed a chicken. It took just a couple weeks to housetrain him and teach him the joy of chasing other dogs who will chase him back. QUERUBIM UPDATE♥️😊 OUR HANDSOME BOY CONTINUES TO AMAZE US EVERY DAY WITH HIS RESILIENCE😍 Querubim is still healing well. He did have a very tiny area on his surgical site that opened up from the recent swelling, but this was highly expected with a massive procedure like his. The swelling has since gone down, and everything is continuing to heal as planned. 🙏 We are still changing his bandages 2x a day, and when there is no longer a risk of infection, we will remove them completely. Thank you to everyone who recognized how precious Querubim's life is!! We are so grateful to those who donated to help him receive all his care so far, as well as help with his continued hospitalization, since he has no discharge date in sight. Twyla var extremt ointresserad av apporten och var dessutom väldigt låg pga vädret. Men vi fick tips om hur vi ska få upp intresse så nu ska vi jobba på hemma 🙌 Nyx fick hoppa in omgång två och hon var helt sjövild till att börja med. Fick sedan jobba linförighet och också testa apporten. Unser kleiner Cash hatte keinen schönen Start ins Leben. Seine Mutter wurde einsam und verlassen an einem Felsen und während des Geburtprozesses aufgefunden und eine liebe Tierschützerin nahm sie auf, bis alle durchgeimpft waren. Nun ist die kleine Familie im Tierheim und bereit, eine eigene Familie zu finden. Cash wurde am 06.01.24 geboren und wenn er ausgewachsen ist, wird er wohl ein mittelgroßer Rüde sein. Der kleine Racker ist verträglich mit anderen Hunden und auch Katzen sind kein Problem. Am liebsten tobt und flitzt er mit seinen felligen Kumpels durch den Garten, wenn er mal die Möglichkeit dazu hat. Cash liebt es, in der Nähe von Menschen zu sein und zu Kuscheln und wünscht sich nichts sehnlicher, als gemeinsam mit seinen zukünftigen Hundeeltern das Hunde 1×1 zu lernen. Cash ist geimpft, gechipt, entwurmt und hat einen EU-Heimtierausweis. Whether capable of becoming an amazing companion, or a dog that cannot be trusted, is disrespectful, is a reactive mess, and consistently makes poor decisions, WE HUMANS CREATE IT — one allowance or shrug of the shoulder at a time, no matter how teeny-tiny it may have seemed. Of course each and every dog out there comes with their very own unique personality. But most of us never consider the gravity that our daily interactions have on shaping attitude. Bit by bit, we slowly begin to shape patterns of behavior and perceptions of ourselves — Who’s in control??? Behavioral issues are simply a manifestation of our daily interactions. These interactions are based in permissiveness or management, reaction or intent. Whatever personality the dog has been born with, the human holds the power to shape drastically differing outcomes. Small moments of allowance create deep patterns of being. Disregarding this simple fact will inevitably produce an outcome we may not have intended. And so decent dogs, entirely capable of being a pleasure to live with, end up monsters on a path of destruction. Instead of letting moments of impulsivity/disrespect/irrationality slide (which creates the dog before you), we should use thoughtful INTENTION, and demand PERMISSION and calm behavior when the dog’s unsavory desire strikes. Gleich 4 kleine Wesen machen sich heute auf die Reise ins Glück. 4 Hunde in 3 Transporten ‐ das ist schon eine kleine Herausforderung 😀 Wir konnten 2 ältere Bulldoggen - Flocke und Muffin - aus dem Tierheim Püspökladány (Ungarn) übernehmen. Beide gehen auf Pflegestelle mit Option auf Fürimmer und wir wünschen uns einfach, dass sie noch einen schönen Lebensabend verbringen dürfen. Der hübsche, kleine, rote Hundebub ist Jonathan. Er kommt aus Rumänien und reist ebenfalls auf eine Pflegestelle mit Option auf ein Für-immer-Zuhause. Und dann kommt auch noch die ängstliche Shauna. Sie kommt aus dem Riesenshelter Bucov in Rumänien und kommt zukünftig in Stüdenitz bei unserer Vanessa unter. Wir hoffen, dass sie dort hoffentlich den Weg aus ihrer Angst heraus finden wird. Sie sucht dann nach angemessener Zeit ein Zuhause. Awpasl Rescue: VIKTOR is a victim of animal cruelty- boiling water was thrown on him. An innocent and quiet dog, he was in pain and subdued when admitted to hospital. Further investigations revealed an enlarged prostrate too. Once he is treated for these and stable he will be neutered , a home found or admitted to the shelter. Something many of you don't know about me is that Made on Maidstone is not my only job. I work full-time in data management at Bank Of America. (How do I manage to run a small business where I handcraft everything myself AND work a full-time corporate job? I ask myself that question every day!) Today I participated in a Bank of America volunteer event supporting @dorchesterpaws . Several dogs from the shelter came to our office and got lots of attention and walks! Participating in an event like this is both happy and sad because I love that the dogs got a much-needed break from the shelter and lots of attention but it makes me sad that I'm not able to give all of them a good home. But what I can do is share this on social media and get the word out that they have a lot of great dogs looking for families! I have a lot of followers in the Charleston area and I hope this reaches someone who can open their heart and home! The dog in the first 2 pictures is Birdie. She's eight years young, and loves treats and leisurely walks where she can stop and sniff everything. She's good with kids, cats and other dogs. She's looking for a foster home until a permanent home can be found. The dog in the third picture is Tweedie. She's 10 years young and is a very sweet and laid back kind of girl! The black dog is Prada. She 2 and has lots of energy! She likes long walks and rolling in the grass. Then, of course, there's Beckham, the cute little puppy. He was out there with two of his siblings, who are all adorable as he is. But don't let the cuteness of the puppies keep you from considering an older dog because they still have so much love to give!
