Family traditions are my most favorite thing! ✨ Even though the start of this school year wasn’t the same, due to distance learning, we still got those “first day jitters”. It’s that anxious feeling right before starting something new and different...well thankfully “jitter juice” can solve all your anxieties 😉 We started this tradition last year, right before Gavin started kindergarten. I discovered the book, 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘋𝘢𝘺 𝘑𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 on Pinterest (gotta love Pinterest) and we read the book the night before starting kindergarten. The next morning I made him “Jitter Juice” ☺️ Turns out he got it twice that day because his teacher read the book and she also made her own version of jitter juice for the whole class. Well, fast forward to this year...right after Gavin drank his jitter juice he went in our office to start his first day of virtual learning and would you know...the very first thing his teacher did was read, 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘋𝘢𝘺 𝘑𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴!! It’s World Baking Day, so we baked. Although, every day is baking day at our place. Nick has a school baking project due so he baked a chocolate cake. It was not bad for his first time baking. He even frosted it with homemade chocolate frosting. Emily and Valentina made a funfetti cake. They’re getting good at these box cake mixes. And I made another banana bread, no pics because I burnt it. But it’s still delicious.

The portion of the Baby Back ribs is honestly big enough to share between 2 people, nice rub of the sweet bbq sauce, served with jalapeño cornbread, coleslaw and waffle cut fries.👌❤️ but the ribs gets really hard to cut after it gets a bit cold. The brisket sandwich was pretty good, the brisket meat were superrrr tender~ just wish that there were veggies or coleslaw served with the sandwich too. Barely enough sauce for the bowl, the rice was dry/hard, and not super appealing presentation either. This is the Churro Sundae which we got from The Golden Horseshoe in Frontier Land. This awesome sundae is made with cookie dough ice cream with cookie butter sauce, topped with churros, cajeta (a type of dulce de leche) and whipped cream... seriously delicious... this thing is so tasty, the line can get as long as the lines for the rides, so plan accordingly! 3. Third place was claimed by the S’mores Churro which is available at the churro cart next to Grizzly River Rapids. Alright everyone, we have landed on our top 5 Disneyland treats, and will post them over the next three days! Here are the treats that came in places 4 and 5: 4. Our favorite drink dessert was the Frozen Abuelita Horchata, available at the Rancho del Zocalo restaurant in Frontierland, which is frozen Mexican hot chocolate layered with frozen horchata and topped with spiced whipped cream... if you are a horchata fan, you need to try this... we found it tasted the best when the hot chocolate and the horchata were mixed together. This is a Halloween special, so keep an eye out for it the next Halloween season! 🎃 5. Yes, a cup of ice cream came in at number five, but only because it was so freakin delicious! The Firehouse Dalmatian Sundae which you can get at the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street in Disneyland is two scoops of mint chocolate chip ice cream in a waffle cup with hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry (which Lauren ate before taking the picture 😂). The chowder is creamy and filled with all sorts of seafood, and served with a cutely shaped Mickey head crouton. 💕The Duffy mouse dessert was also amazing! We loved eating the finely whipped sweet choco mousse with the sweet sour passion fruit, it was a great balance of sweetness! You gotta try these! ❤️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These Mickey and Donald Burgers are too adorable to eat! They not only look cute, they also taste super super awesome! 🤤 The Mickey roasted chicken is nice and juicy, brushed with sweet teriyaki sauce, and all wrapped in a soft Mickey hand bao with egg salad too. The shrimp cutlet is fried golden and crispy with mayo tartar spread and fresh lettuce.
