Hi everyone, This holiday season, the ECS community is giving back to children in need by taking part in the “Operation Christmas Child” initiative. This organization personally delivers shoe boxes packed with gifts for children living in war, poverty and remains of natural disasters. If you are interested in getting involved, you can come to GH318 (Resource Room) to pick up your shoebox. Upon collecting your box, you will have to decide if you’d like to prepare a gift box for a boy or a girl between the ages of 2-14, because we will be providing you with a gender-specific label that you will place on your box. You can pack your box with anything including, stuffed animals, personal care items, clothing, crafts and a personal note. Once your box is filled with love, you can drop it off with us in the Resource Room no later than November 17th! Good Morning ECS community! We have an exciting Mental Health Challenge planned for you for the month of February!! Mental health is extremely important and we value each and every one of you, which is why we have created this challenge. We have created a BINGO card that has a variety of prompts to complete. We encourage all of you to participate and take a screenshot or save the BINGO card. By the end of the month of February, we encourage you to have crossed out every box. There will be incentives for fully completing the BINGO card, which will be some ECS Gear along with a $5 Amazon gift card. We encourage you to document some of the activities, such as going for a walk. If you go for a walk, we encourage you to take a picture of yourself outside or if you feel more comfortable taking a picture of your beautiful surroundings that works too! When documenting some of the activities, we encourage you to post a story to your IG and tag @ecs.resource. If you do not feel comfortable posting stories to your IG, we will gladly accept the photos confidentially. Documentation is not necessary for the full BINGO card, but there are several prompts that can be documented, such as going for a walk, reading a book, eating fruits and vegetables, etc. In order to win the incentives, you will need to send us at least 5 photos that prove the prompts have been completed. ECS had its first gym outing on Saturday. It was so much fun to get together with everyone and their significant others outside of the gym. Especially post pandemic and feeling somewhat normal. . 2012 Blacks match report from Coach Dee: Our first match was against Castle Ladies. Before we went onto the pitch you could see the determination on our teams face ready to get going. When we got onto the pitch everyone of our players looked for the passes made great runs and really showed our strength in every aspect of the pitch. Our second match was Portavogie Jets. We went into this match with even more enthusiasm. Some great team play this week with some fantastic finishes and saves from our keeper to keep us in the game. Really pleased with everyone’s effort today they went onto the pitch determined to win two matches and really deserved it. Very happy and proud coach. 2010’s match report... Today saw a bit of a different set up due to some of our kids being out of action today due to sickness, we had a team of 12 kids available and were therefore able to sort a 3-way with Portavogie and Bangor swifts. First game against Portavogie saw our kids put all their training techniques together pressing Portavogie high up the pitch and utilising the pass & overlap techinique. Second game was a different story when we were up against a very strong Bangor swifts team who showed good pressure from the outset. Our kids never gave up showing great attitude and teamwork. 2011 Players of the Match! Well done to all the kids this morning in more tough playing conditions! Greens took on Castle Colts at LDP this morning. They were under pressure for the first few minutes then settled in and held their own for the first 15 min match, defended well and created a few chances of their own. To their credit they continued to battle the weather and Castle to the end with some great individual moments that we as coaches know they are capable of. Player of the Match was awarded for tireless commitment all morning. The Whites were up against a strong BYM team this morning and were giving as good as they got until the rain came. There was some fantastic defending and brilliant goalkeeping which kept them in the game longer. There were a few opportunities to break with some nice passing and movement. An amazing performance today from ECS 2010 Blacks against Killyleagh. From the get go we showed our desire to win the ball, keep our shape and pressure on attack was great. Our kids kept control of the ball in all areas of the pitch and started to utilise our pass and move/overlap strategy to help press their defence. Today saw a late injury from our keeper with nets covered by our sub-keeper leaving us with no field subs. On summary this was an absolutely amazing team performance from all today and they played with confidence and team spirit, they all came off the pitch with huge smiles knowing that they had played so well. This organization personally delivers shoes boxes backed with gifts for children living in war, poverty and remains of natural disaster. If you are interested in getting involved, you can come to GH318 (Resource Room) to pick up your shoebox. Upon collecting your box, you will have to decide if you’d like to prepare a gift box for a boy or a girl between the ages of 2-14, because we will be providing you with a gender specific label that you will place on your box. You can pack your box with anything including, stuffed animals, personal care items, clothing, crafts and a personal note. Once your box is filled with love, you can drop it off with us in the Resource Room no later than November 22nd. ECS 2010 (Whites) Post Match Report against Abbey Villa. . . We knew that this was going to be a tough morning. . . From the start Abbey Villa put us under a lot of pressure in the first game and we made a few tactical changes for the second. . . The team started the second match in the same spirit as the first. . . We wanted to challenge some of the East Coast players by playing them in positions they didn’t normally find themselves in. . . The team adapted well and continued to challenge for the ball. . . The third match continued with the same pace, focus and high level of action. . . The East Coast team continued to show true potential with glimpses of quick link up play and some super through balls that put the opposition under pressure. . .
