A really important law change… “📣 Campaign win! 📣 After years of campaigning with our sisters at @evawuk, @rightsofwomencharity and @centrewj, we are thrilled that the Government is changing the law to help #KeepCounsellingConfidential and better protect survivors’ right to privacy. Today, the government has accepted an amendment to the Victims and Prisoners Bill, tabled by Baroness Bertin, that will raise the legal threshold for when rape survivors’ counselling notes can be requested by the police. While the much-needed change in law does not go as far as we had hoped, it is a significant step in the right direction. And we couldn’t have done this without our fantastic supporters!
