In our composition, the flowers are pink dianthus from Cypress Flower Farm in Moss Beach, CA, and the dress is a vintage Serbin of Florida fit-and-flare frock found in a shop in San Francisco back in 2010 (likely a piece that was originally from the 1950s or early 1960s, given the pattern and the Betty Draper-esque vibe). . Per a post by Lizzie Bramlett of The Vintage Traveler to which Marianne Serbin Friedman replied, Serbin of Florida was founded by her father, Lewis I. Serbin, in the mid-1940s in Ohio. He then moved the family-run company to Miami, where it produced lines of dresses and sportswear that were sold in department stores & specialty shops across the U.S. for over 50 years. Happy bank holiday… I am having a rare weekend off weddings but while I am out of office I thought it would be good to say hello👋 💚 I’m Cate. I live in Nottinghamshire with Mr GreenGate, my two teenage kids and our feral rescue dog. The most well-known work of this art form is Under the Wave off Kanagawa, also known as The Great Wave, by Katsushika Hokusai. This dynamic fresh floral creation takes inspiration from the abstract art style and one of its pioneers, Piet Mondrian, created by @floral.rupalshete. Piet Mondrian was a Dutch painter and art theoretician and one of the pioneers of 20th-century abstract art. Mondrian‘s art was highly utopian and was concerned with a search for universal values and aesthetics. To create ‘universal beauty‘ Mondrian developed the De Stijl art movement, limited to the three primary colors (red, blue and yellow), the three primary values (black, white and gray) and the two primary directions (horizontal and vertical). Mondrian‘s work had an enormous influence not only in abstract painting but also design, architecture and fashion.

John William Waterhouse was a member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood – a group of English poets, painters, and writers in mid-19th century Britain who rebelled against contemporary academic conventions of beauty in art. This design by @esthersprivategarden features his “The Soul of the Rose” piece in fresh florals. His 1908 painting The Soul of The Rose was likely inspired by an Alfred Lord Tennyson poem, and presents a woman’s pleasure in nature, with themes of sensuality and longing for love. Her red hair, a common feature of the women in Pre-raphaelite paintings, is made with burnt orange amaranthus, while her robe is composed of delicate dry hydrangea petals, interspersed with fresh delphinium and hydrangeas.

@fschicago celebrates Fleurs de Villes ARTSTE and their 35th anniversary with this beautiful fresh floral mannequin that draws inspiration from multiple works from the hotel‘s art collection: James Welling’s photogram series Flowers, and the captivating Urbs in Horto welcoming art installation by Unitfive Design in Toronto. An array of blooms is incorporated with colors and textures that echo Welling’s vibrant photograms of flowers. The design exudes movement, mirroring Urbs in Horto ’s abstract interpretation of a tree canopy. This installation features five thousand hand-formed brass leaves suspended on 600 individual strands, evoking the gentle rustling of a tree canopy above.
