Whenever we drive from Port Elizabeth to East London, we always make a stop at the pub for a drink, coffee or a meal. It's South Africa's oldest continuously operated pub, and my wife's family were 1820 Settlers, some of whom are buried in the intriguing graveyards. I have left my business card and a few messages as I believe that the pub has a lot of potential. I have created some advertisements to help promote it. Another Throwback Thursday of our beautiful inn! Do you know how the Pig and Whistle got its name? The inn acquired its current name more than 100 years after its establishment, during WW2 to be exact. When British soldiers from the Royal Air Force were stationed at the nearby airforce base.
