Meagan has been a member of Angel City Chorale since 2015 and has contributed so much to our community ever since, first as our web content manager and most recently, serving as Associate Producer and member of the PR Committee. #FlashbackFriday to when we performed at UCLA's centennial! UCLA is our Artistic Director's, Sue Fink, alma mater. We really blessed the rains down in Los Angeles that day, if you can tell from the gray skies. Even though the weather was not ideal, we had so much fun performing Africa outside in the rain! She had a deep resonant howl. Cleo loved to pose with Angel City Chorale merchandise and her owner had trouble getting any pictures without Cleo in them! She is even one of the CD sponsors listed on Gift of the Angels CD as "Cleo Sanders". A true patron of the arts! We loved those maroon jackets so much that we kept them until just a few years ago! This concert special was filmed at the Kodak Theatre, which we now have very fond memories of. It's our favorite day of the week: #FanFriday! We love Fridays so much because it means we can celebrate YOU our biggest fans and supporters. This week's superfan is Martin Farrar, from Aberdour, Scotland! Martin saw us perform in Harrogate, England and then came to Los Angeles to see us perform two more times. We were so touched by Martin's words about Angel City Chorale has impacted him. He said, "Music is quite a powerful medium in that it can take you out of yourself and transport you into a different...a different world, if you like. It can take you away from your worries, or it can be uplifting, supporting, and encouraging. I think just the energy of the choir and the selflessness and cheerfulness of everyone singing so draws you into it. Really." #TBT to our 2007 Ireland tour! We had a blast touring all over Ireland singing and taking in the beautiful scenery. One of our favorite nights was when we took over the hotel bar in Ballina, a town in Northeastern Ireland. Sue jumped on the piano and we sang the night away. A very special shoutout to our amazing tour guide, Helen Lee - we love and miss you! We can't wait until we're able to get together and have a spontaneous jam session again! We are so excited to share that our collaboration performance of Siyahamba with the @amyfoundationsa choir will be used in the AIDS 2020 Interfaith Service, which will open the @aids_conference on July 7. The theme of AIDS 2020 is all about resilience. The movement to confront the AIDS epidemic is a portrait in resilience that has led to one of the most extraordinary public health responses in history. #TBT to June 2019 when we finally got to perform "Best Day of My Life" by American Authors. This was the song we would have performed on the final round of America's Got Talent! The choreographer on this song was the fantastic Billy Rugh. He designed the choreography to take the choir and audience through every step of our journey on America's Got Talent. Not only is it Father's Day, it is also #MakeMusicDay! Angel City Chorale members are celebrating Make Music Day virtually, as seen as our members make beautiful music on this video! Thank you so much to @mallorykaydavis and her autoharp, @handelcheryl and her dulcimer, @nataliemakenna and her operatic voice, and @lorileebajema and her piano. What is Make Music Day? Held annually on June 21, Make Music Day is part of the international Fête de la Musique, taking place in 1,000 cities across 120 countries. The daylong, musical free-for-all celebrates music in all its forms, encouraging people to band together and play in free public concerts. If you caught our run on @agt, you probably noticed that we love to do choreography! #TBT to December 2008, when someone stood behind Sue Fink, our conductor, to guide us through the choreography during the concerts. To prepare for our run on America's Got Talent, all of our members attended many extra choreography rehearsals and put in hours to memorize the choreography, so we could dance without having a guide. Today, we love the choreography rehearsals leading up to our concerts. You can catch some signature Angel City Chorale moves in at least a few of our songs in every concert! Since they posted it, I guess I can too... So in case you haven't heard, I joined a choir this past February. I've been yearning to sing again for a long time; I just couldn't find the right group. Then I came across @angelcitychorale . It was the greatest thing I did. They have welcomed me with open arms, and already its given me opportunities that I never thought would be possible. Case in point, this photo. Auditioning for America's Got Talent (or any nationally broadcast singing competition) was something I NEVER had the guts to do. And now here I am...somewhere.
