Looking at the last Speed Champions set of the 2020 releases, here is the Formula E Panasonic Jaguar Racing GEN2 Car & Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY (76898) twin-set from the Lego Speed Champions line.⠀ ⠀ What is inside the box?⠀ ⠀ Two colour construction instruction manuals; Two Sticker Sheets; Five Bags; One Base Plate.⠀ ⠀ Interesting how this twin-set has both cars adopting the same color scheme, whilst other twin-sets usually have the two vehicles in alternate colors. Although in saying that, this set does come across as a very race-centric set that the other sets don't necessarily do. Nice to be able to hit this point with the 2020 sets as I loosely recall getting them (when they were at retail) with the hope to launch into Youtube. Whilst I was glad that I didn't actually get into Youtube until early 2021, it was definitely a daunting thought. The Jaguar set is an interesting set, but the uniform colors between the two cars really does help unify the set. The eTROPHY is still my preferred car of the two, but I do look forward to building the Formula car to see how that goes (especially now that there are a few in the line). I can safely say I am not looking forward to lining up some of those multi-piece Jaguar stickers though. The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace was an important step for the company, being the first all electric vehicle in its lineup. Da ist das Ding! Der erste Einzelbeitrag eines neuen Speedchampion-Modells, nachdem ja nun der Maßstab größer geworden ist. Die Modelle sind nun 8 statt 6 Noppen breit und dementsprechend auch in der Länge gewachsen. Ja, es lassen sich so mehr Details gestalten, aber leider passen so neue + alte Modelle nicht mehr vom Maßstab zueinander 😕 Anyway: Der #jaguar #ipace hier ist m.E. leider das schlechteste Auto der neuen Serie. Die Front ist extrem interessant gestaltet (und.a. mit einem umgedrehten Radkappen als Grill) - nur leider hörts da auch schon auf 😅 Um das Volumen in diesem großen Modell "zu stopfen" wurden bspw. 2 extrem große Bausteine (war 2 × 8 oder sogar noch größer?) In der Fahrzeugmitte verbaut. Sorry, aber das ist einfach nur langweilig und da fragt man sich sofort, warum die Modelle jetzt größer werden mussten, wenn so "Volumenprobleme" ausgeglichen werden. Das Heck finde ich ebenfalls extrem langweilig und auch die Dachlinie haut mich nicht um. Ganz schlimm finde ich außerdem die Räder, die für einen #suv in diesem Maßstab viel zu klein sind! Beim Lambo (der kommt die Tage) wurde das wesentlich besser gelöst 🙂 Genauso furchtbar ist außerdem wieder die Stickerqualität 🙄 #lego schafft es einfach nicht, den Farbton der Steine zu treffen und so sieht für mich alles, wo ein Aufkleber drauf ist, so aus, als hätten die Steine/Teile einen Grauschleier 😵 Wenn ich das Modell so in der Hand halte und anschaue, dann ist es für mich nur ein unschöner und uninspirierter Klotz! Das hier ist übrigens das 2. Zweier-Set der aktuellen #lego #speedchampions - #jaguar lässt grüßen 🐆 Witzigerweise fand ich den Formel-E-Rennwagen tatsächlich cooler zu bauen, als den großen iPace. Beim zweiteren muss ich sogar sagen, dass der teils lahm war 😕 Der hat zwar ein paar nette Ideen, wie bspw. einen umgedreht eingebauten Kotflügel (!) als Kühlergrill, aber sonst ist es ein ziemlich grober und uninspirierter Klotz 😕 (wie gesagt: das Lambo-Set ist deutlich besser!). Schade auch, dass sie die Scheinwerfer mit grauen (!) anstatt mit durchsichtigen Steinen gebaut haben. Nicht besonders realistisch... Was übrigens auch nervt: Lego schafft's mal wieder nicht bei den türkisen Aufklebern den Farbton der Steine zu treffen 🙄 Auch zu diesem Set gibt's eine Startampel, aber nun ja 😉 (who cares?)... I forgot to post about it but I did get the Audi TT and Volkswagen T1 Camper! . . They are awesome but I do prefer the Audi, the interior is way better than the VW and it goes together way better. . . The T1 is good but not great, some of the parts didn’t fit quite together and it’s interior is quite crappy to be honest. It is nice to play with tho! Also, the reason for the lack of wingmirrors is they were ridiculously weak! . . @officialairfix you outdid yourselves on the TT, especially the interior! . . BUILD & REVIEW - 76898 Today on my Twitch channel (https://www.twitch.tv/novaswordgaming) we live built this fantastic Speed Champions set from this year, the Formula E Panasonic Jaguar Racing GEN2 car & Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY! I know that's a huge mouthful, so we'll just refer to them as the Formula E and the I-PACE for the rest of this review. The set includes 565 pieces, which make two minifigures, the two cars, and a starting grid for racing. The minifigures are a male driver for the Formula E and a female one for the I-PACE, each with helmets and hair pieces to swap out. There's also a wrench accessory. The Formula E is a great racecar, honestly. I love this new evolution of the Formula 1 cars I grew up watching with my dad. Black as a base color with the sky blue accents (I don't know what LEGO's official color name is) is a clean, sharp look. I also love the use of flex tubing for the windscreen. The I-PACE is a fantastic build. I was surprised it was so bulky but I guess my only other 8-wide cars are the Ferrari F8 Tributo and the Formula E from this set! There's a lot of great angling, parts usage and SNOT techniques building up the car. The starting grid makes use of a neat play function where you pull a Technic axel to let the lights drop down and "turn on". It's a great little addition to round out the set.
