Zudem hat sie mich dazu gebracht, mir konsequenter für das Malen Zeit zu nehmen. Zwar habe ich es die letzten beiden Tage nicht geschafft, pünktlich zu sein. Aber ich habe sie nachgeholt, sobald es ging. Nur mit dem Fotografieren hat es dann wieder ein wenig gedauert. Egal. Es hat mir gezeigt, wie gut mir das abendliche Abschalten beim Malen, Zeichnen oder Lettern tut. Dass ich, so lange es nicht zu turbulent war, durchaus noch etwas Kreatives schaffen kann. day 93: #messymay I am super late but just found out about this project. I really loved following the prompts for the #inchiechallenge, so this was a no brainer for me. Especially since I have been going hard on the art journaling lately. I promise I will do some scribble coloring tomorrow. I’m so in love with how day one turned out. [Now, first off, I’m not that “messy” and I get that. I will be working on letting some of that neatness go during this process. Haha] Day 1 was all about introducing yourself and where you are at in your life and journey at the moment. I chose to use the cacti to represent Arizona and have the image of the beach layered over it to represent my current home in Charleston. I love the sun and birds and chose a lamp that looks kind of like the moon or a planet because I have been super into space lately. And a butterfly because I am in a transitional period of life and I’ve been trying to lean into that. I found the this notebook that has old visual merchandising notes and left those exposed because that is such a big part of who I am. Anyway, if you read this you are a real one. I am just so happy with how well this silly page represents me. Day 7, "stone" prompt of the 2024 inchie challenge, with @amymaricle of Mindful Art Studio. I struggled a bit with this one. I had a clear vision but couldn't locate my reference photo. Since my take on this challenge is "quick" and "low key" or "pressure free" creations, I had to get past what was bothering me (the inability to easily get to my reference photo) and move on. I feel like this was my least successful inchie so far in this challenge. Definitely come back tomorrow because the next prompt was the absolute opposite of this one. It reminded me how much I have loved painting with inks. You read that right. For days 5-8 of the Inchie Challenge with @amymaricle I used squares of watercolor paper that measured 2x2” for days 6 and 7. For day 5, I took a picture of some of my favorite brushes, and I had a lot of fun on day 8, splattering ink all over the paper. I used a very heavy piece of watercolor paper, leftover from some other project, so it was hard to fold the zine.
