December’s top tunes was a fun one to make, because I decided I was keen to do it all in red, black and blue biro pens..! Something different because why not. It went through so many iterations to get it juuuust right, but I’m stoked with the final result. I’m not sure if it’s people feel the same with other sorts of art or music making, but I absolutely adore going down that rabbithole of experimentation and trial and error to get the final result! This month’s music Zine - “Sounds of September” looks quite different! This month I spent volunteering at an ‘off grid’ Conservation Center (just below the Victorian Alpine) without internet or electricity, so I wasn’t able to really use the ol “Spotify Discovery” or go to many gigs... but I did have what albums were downloaded on my phone. Also knowing some of my favourite bands were releasing music - which meant literally going on a hike to find a patch of internet amongst the mountains to listen to some new tunes. For that reason, I ended up listening to some key Albums on repeat.. - so these are my picks for September! “Fatalism” - Polaris (Such a fan of this new album!! “Solipsism” - Weighbridge (totally went on a hike for “Burning the Bridge” and was not disappointed, what a tune, what an EP!!!) “Death of Me” - Polaris “Delinquent” - No Life (Grateful to learn about these guys before I left, so I downloaded Delinquent and loved it, then got to dip back into the city for one of their gigs! Absolutely epic) Then, randomly enough, “Killing in the Name of” by Rage against the Machine, not because it was downloaded on my phone, but because someone out there knew how to play it on guitar, so it just got stuck in everyone’s heads and has now made the list. If you don’t know any of these albums or bands and heavy music is your thing, give them a listen! This month features songs from Broken Earth, Ransom Revue, Chelsea Grin and Bullet For My Valentine I find this little Zine series something I really look forward to making! This week’s #zine #review is of “Write It Down: A Mini-Zine About Journaling” by @seagreenzines! There’s nothing I enjoy quite like writing in a notebook with a good pen. Getting words on paper helps organize my thoughts and clear my mind. I was excited to receive this zine in the mail! I’d previously read Nyx’s Bujo zine, and this one was an excellent companion to it. Here, Nyx introduces various types of journaling. I liked how the zine encourages people to figure out which kind of journaling works best for them. And this zine has a whole other section when you open it up! #minizine #zinereview

YOU GUYS, MY ZINE IS DONE! I spent 9 hours wrestling with my printer yesterday, which is also about equal to the amount of time it took to write and illustrate the zine in the first place. It’s called “In the 90’s”, and it’s actually an illustrated poem to my high school boyfriend, written 27 years after our break up. It’s also a lot more than that. This is perhaps one of my most vulnerable pieces of writing I’ve ever shared, paired with long-kept mementos of a time when I was an anxious, queer kid, raising myself. I won’t be publishing all these pages to the internet, but I’d love to get a printed copy into the hands of anyone who would like one. I’d like to offer the first dozen free to interested folks in the US. I found a dozen stamps while I was working on it so it just seemed like kismet. Full color, 16 pages, half size. #代々木 を散歩していたら見つけた、お洒落な雰囲気の #seafoodbarermitage にふらっと入ってみました。 シーフードバル だそうです🐟 平日は限定40食。土日、祝は限定80食の #サーモンレアカツ丼 をいただきました。 (ラスト1食だったのでシェアして食べました。 とてもラッキー✌🏻) こんなに分厚いサーモンが噛んだ瞬間 とろけるのでびっくり！ 自家製のタルタルソースとも相性抜群でした◎ 私は サーモン＝生 としか思っていなかったので、 新たな楽しみ方😳 という感じです。 ここもリピしたい！！
