Today is World Labyrinth Day. I walked mine today by creating this labyrinth with tangles along the path. As I was inking in the labyrinth, the pen that I was using went out of ink. For one moment, I had wanted to stop and to continue until I get a new piece of pen. However, a "voice" in me prompted me that I could use another shade of green to complete it. In the end, I listened to the "voice" and continued. As I reflected on the process, in some ways as I was finding some harmony and peace in within, I was also learning to make peace with myself that it is okay to switch the pens. Day 5 #inchiechallenge prompt: #bristle Like I typically do, I did do some research on the word. It feels like most of the definitions have to do with facial hair. Of course, all the art people in this challenge are inclined to make it paintbrush “hairs”. I think I’m inclined to make it about a paintbrush as well. I chose a cheap “bristled” brush. wet it down and let my brush choose the colors and the bristles lead the way. These little abstract cutie watercolors are giving me life right now. I like the compilation. I also like my little one by 1 inch tying them together in the middle. Pigment studies I-IV A lil series to begin a new phase of r&d within my craft, I’m reminded of the importance of experimentation. Once things get comfortable and “easy” it’s time to push forward and make the vision that much more refined. Using pigments harvested from Hawaii, Washington and Wyoming, these four slices of red alder asked great patience of me. The texture of pigments processed by my own hands is far different than the machine processed I’m used to. Many more layers of paint required, and not as possible to get those tiny lines/dots I so love. Back to the beginning. A volte questi modi interpretativi possono confinarci in schemi mentali rapidi e “automatici” e risultare poco funzionali al nostro benessere. Prendere consapevolezza della nostra sfera interiore, delle nostre interpretazioni istintive, della nostra realtà vissuta e condizionata, porta a valutare prospettive alternative e a trasportarsi in un’esperienza più intima della vita, più lenta, ad osservarla con più indagine fuori dal tempo futuro e vissuto. Arte Lenta sono due delle mie parole preferite e s’ispira a tutti coloro che trovano nel lento ascolto e nella lenta osservazione il ‘significato rivelatore’ la propria verità. Vuole essere niente di sicuro quindi abbastanza vasto, leggero come il vuoto quando lo vedi dalla parte giusta e pesante come il vuoto quando lo vedi dalla parte sbagliata. Vuole provare ad essere uno spazio più possibile libero da condizionamenti(questo sarà difficile) così ho pensato di scrivere il logo con la mano che non sa scrivere come i bambini all’inizio.
