ADRIAN NEWEY'S FUTURE WITH RBR FINALLY ANNOUNCED: Red Bull Racing has finally announced Adrian Newey's future, and it doesn't involve Ferrari, for now, as many sources have noted. Red Bull Racing's Chief Technical Officer #AdrianNewey (65yo) will leave the Red Bull Technology Group in the first quarter of the 2025 F1 season. The master of engineering will step back from his Formula 1 design duties to focus on the final development and delivery of Red Bull’s first hypercar, the hugely anticipated RB17. Newey joined Red Bull Racing in the team's second season in 2006. The series is now being organized and promoted by TopSpeed. - TEAMS & DRIVERS 🏎👥 - 10 drivers tackle the first weekend of the season. AGI Sport will be competing with three drivers. James Piszcyk competed in British F4 last year, finishing fifth with two wins and two more podium finishes. Teammate Nicolas Stati also won an F4 race in Sepang last year in F4 SEA. The AGI team is completed by rookie Seth Gilmore. The Formula Race Academy team will start with Mark Wilson, Nathan Gotch and Nicholas Filipetto in the Masters Class, as well as with rookie driver Joanne Ciconte. I've had this thought in my head for a while. As car enthusiasts and motorsport enthusiasts, we all have seen the constant news of racetracks closing all over the country. The comments on each new closure are flooded with, calls for developers to stop building communities on top of tracks, and then complaining. Telling cities that street takeovers or racing won't go down if they close the only legal outlet and how can it be stopped. I don't have all those answers, but I have some thoughts and opinions I want to get out. Welcome to the Marion County Motorplex! A 5.278 km (3.28 mi) long FIA Grade 2 racing complex located 20 minutes from Salem, Oregon, in some random field that definitely isn’t immediately east of a dairy farm! The longest configuration is the GP variant, measuring in at the aforementioned 5.278 km (3.28 mi) long, with 21 corners and 23.7 m (77.8 ft) of elevation change (highest point being turn 18 and the lowest being between turns 14 and 15). Official seating capacity comes into 99,250 people (and I actually did the math for it this time), with that massive grandstand modeled after the natural earth banks seen at Suzuka and other Japanese tracks seating 42,800 people alone! Designed to host just about every form of North American motorsports imaginable (except drag racing, the longest straight’s only 700 m), up to and including NASCAR, it also boasts 16 separate clubhouses so the rich and wealthy can store their cars and watch racing from their own private place, without having to worry about intruders! Hopefully… Note: the full layout is FIA Grade 2 simply because it’s less expensive than the FIA Grade 1 license. It was designed to Grade 1 standards, but F1 already has three races in the US and doesn’t need a fourth (although, if there were to be a fourth race, please let it be here in Indy!) The One with the Teammate Trouble 😬✴🏝🏁 Well, Long Beach didn't quite go the way we'd anticipated. Once again the 7 car had trouble in qualifying. Alex would line up p13 on Sunday. But that would not be his greatest challenge in the race. Pato made contact with his left rear tire in the fountain section, forcing Alex to pit on lap 3. Pato was then forced to serve a pass through penalty for avoidable contact. The two spent the rest of the day playing catch up on a different strategy. Alex was impressively able to recover to a top 10 finish 👏 Not the day we hoped for but a decent recovery from the 7 car side. I believe this was the first on track issue between these 2 as teammates. I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later.
