हाँडीगाँउको जात्रा र नुवाकोटको सम्बन्ध :- हाँडीगाउँकाे गहना पोखरीमा गहना खोज्ने जात्राको किम्बदन्ती अनुसार टुंडाल देवीको तीन दिदीबहिनी थिए जस्मा महालक्ष्मी , मनमैजु र नुवाकोट देवी हुन् । एकदिन टुंडाल देवी आफ्नो तीनै जना दिदीबहिनी संग हाँडीगाँउको गहना पोखरीमा पौडी खेल्न जाँदा तीन दिदीबहिनी मध्येको एक टुंडाल देवीको गहना पौडी खेल्ने क्रममा हराएको र उक्त पोखरीमा गहना खोज्दाखोज्दै रात परेकोले मनमैजु र नुवाकोट देवी आफ्नो घर फर्किन्छ । तर महालक्ष्मी देवी आफ्नो बहिनीलाई गहना खोज्न साथ दिन्छ र गहना फेला पर्छ । गहना फेला परिसकेपछी टुंडाल देवी र महालक्ष्मी देवी घर फर्किने क्रममा घर नजिकैको डबलीमा आफ्नो गहना देखाउँछ । गहना पाएको खुशीयालिमा सो जात्राको शुरूवात भएको मान्यता छ । गहना फेलापरेपछी टुंडाल देवीले नुवाकोट देवीलाई पनि सो गहना देखाउन ल्याएको किम्बदन्तीमा भेटिन्छ । हाँडीगाँउका स्थानीय वासिन्दाको भनाई अनुसार हाँडीगाँउको जात्रा सकेपछी नुवाकोटमा नुवाकोट देवीलाई गहना देखाउन आउने परम्परा थियो भन्ने कुरा बुझ्न सकिन्छ । तर अहिले सो परम्परा लोप भइसकेको छ । म यो पोस्ट मार्फत सो गहना नुवाकोटको कुन देवीलाई कुन ठाँउमा र कुन मिति तिथिमा देखाइन्थ्यो , यो बारे हाँडीगाँउका स्थानिय वासी वा अरु कसैलाई यस् बारे जानकारी भए यसै पोस्ट मार्फत जानकारी गराईदिनहुन विनम्र अनुरोध गर्दछु । गौतम मान सिं #Jatras

The Jatra activity of searching for lost Jewellery at Hadigaun must have been going around for more than 1000 years or maybe further, as Hadigaun was the capital of Kathmandu Valley even before Kantipur existed. It is fascinating to see how this particular jewellery-searching activity starts. The BhatBhateni deity visits the Tudal devi deity(what is the connection?) then after the Maha Laxmi deity visits the Tudal devi according to the folklore she is the closest relative, only then the Tudal devi heads out to Hadigaun accompanied by Maha Laxmi towards the pond. Only Tudal Devi takes a dip in the pond now called the Jewellery pond "Gahana Pokhari" to find her lost Jewellery while bathing with the other sisters Manamaiju and Nuwakot Devi. In the folklore of the festival activity, four sisters go bathing Tudal Devi, Maha Laxmi, Manamaiju and Nuwakot Devi and one loses some Jewellery while they are bathing, only one of the sisters accompanies in the search for the Jewellery.
