Recently I have developed an interest in apologetics. I have always been fascinated by the way some Christians are so well spoken in the defense of our faith. Even though they are very knowledgeable, I know that ultimately God is the One who helps them through His Spirit to be able to speak the truth . When I listen to some of the questions or arguments towards Christians, I feel hope for those who are truly searching and longing to understand so that they may know what they believe about God. . I feel sadness for those who appear to have already determined they don’t believe and debate only with the intent to refute and insult with no true desire for the truth. . I feel encouraged that there are many we can learn from when it comes to learning how to defend our faith because it is real and based on a real God who is actively involved in the world He created and whom we actively serve. . Although I deeply love and desire God and His word, as I listen and learn from these apologists, pastors, teachers, authors, I realize there is so much I don’t know and that is humbling. If there is one thing that I want people to glean from this little account on IG, it’s that God’s love is for them. My desire is for all to know Him and to grow in their faith. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” - John 3:16 Jesus is our hope. It is through Him that we are made right before God. “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” - John 14:6 All scripture points to the Gospel, the saving grace of God. From start to finish, we see the theme of grace and forgiveness for sinners (all people) through God’s redeeming work in Jesus. Many people know about Jesus, but there is a difference between knowing about Him and truly knowing Him. In order to know Him, we must realize our need for Him, repent (express sincere regret or remorse about one’s wrongdoing), and receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord. The Gospel is for us everyday. As Christians, may we live in light of the Gospel in each moment. Remember the truth of God’s Word and remember who you are in Christ! Always here if you have questions. I know the message of Jesus can be offensive & your first inclination could be defensiveness. Even now the defensiveness creeps in for me at times. But we all need the saving grace of Jesus. We've been blessed to come together as an entire staffing cohort and have our Principal, Peter Cliffe and our school council Chairman, Chris White set vision for the amazing year ahead of us. There have been many meetings, staff PD sessions, catch up coffee's and productive time setting up classrooms. The buses are sparkling, the final touches are being made to our new Primary Building and other areas of the school have been refreshed, all with great anticipation to see our entire school community returning next week. We cannot wait to see you all here for the start of 2024. The words of Paul, but should be ours as well. There’s nothing more rewarding than life lived with Jesus and for Jesus. Nothing in this world can fully satisfy us but him. Pray that the Lord shifts our heart to live for him instead of for ourselves: Lord, I pray that you help me make less of me and more of you. I pray that you help me to live life fully and completely for you and with you. Permeate my life with your goodness and grace. Allow my life to reflect you and your likeness to the world around me. That people may know you through me and receive the gift of eternity in your perfect presence. Lord, help me to trust you as savior of my life that I do not lean on my own understanding, but to trust you in every way. Help me to lead a life like Paul, completely surrendered to loving you and ridding me of my selfish ways.
