Everyday life can take us by surprise. Things come & things go & we can easily get drifted away by emotions & the situations in front of us. In the everyday tasks of cooking, folding laundry, answering emails, getting a workout in, staying on top of work projects, being a parent, helping others, dealing with stress & hardships….It’s easy to get swept up & try to strive in our own power & then we feel discouraged when we can’t measure up or do it all. Don’t miss Jesus because you’re trying to better yourself in your own strength. In Psalm 27:4, the psalmist reminds us of what matters most by revealing what he most longs for : to dwell in the house of God & gaze upon His beauty. He knows that nothing compares to knowing God. He understands that just one thing ultimately matters - being in fellowship with God. I want my life to be fueled by that one thing - enjoying my Savior & making Him known. ❤️ Join us for an online Bible study as we read “The Well-Watered Woman” & study through scripture to establish a closer relationship with Jesus, meet other woman, learn tools & resources to get in the Bible, & grow in our faith. This THURSDAY 5/2 @ 7pm eastern time on zoom. Cost of the book is about $13, but participation is FREE! Link to register & get the book is in bio. 🎉🍩 #biblestudymaterials #holygirl #christiangirl #seekhimfirst #purposefulliving #daughterofgod #womanoffaith #wellwateredwoman #jesusovereverything #womanintheword #christianblogger #shewritestruth #shereadstruth #scripture #lampandlight #biblestudy #biblestudygroup #biblegram #biblejournaling #gospel #scripture #scripturestudy #bibleaesthetic #biblereading #biblejournalingcommunity #biblestudy #faithfulservant #godlywife #christianliving

It's so much easier writing after the miracle than before. It's so much easier thinking about the resurrection than the sacrifice. When everything feels so heavy... and good things fall apart...I surrender. What did Jesus mean when He said, "Take up your cross and follow me?" It means enduring the suffering while maintaining hope. So I write from both places. In the waiting of my miracle, which can feel like suffering and in the already obtained miracle, which is my faith in Christ. Who saved me from deserving death due to my own sin. I write through pain and joy. What more can speak of Christ than that? Who else, but a Christian, can say what Paul said, "I rejoice in my sufferings. "... I don't rejoice of my sufferings - I rejoice IN my sufferings. I don't praise my pain, I praise God IN my pain. Jesus Wept - so you could too. Jesus resurrected - so you could too. I share in his sufferings and also in his glory. I am free. No shame lives in me. I am designed for a purpose with a plan, and God says, "It's good." What more do I need? I will praise thee. Jesus didn't suffer because he could. He suffered for us because that was our suffering to endure.. God's wrath had to be satisfied. So in His love, He sent His son to die in our place for our sins. Depending on what miracle you're waiting on... Earthly circumstantial or eternal 🤔 Is your hope found in the hope of the miracle or on the miracle already obtained? Live from the comfort of the cross not from the comfort of your circumstances, and you'll find contentment. #christianquotes #christianposts #faith #jesus #thebible #godlovesyou #faithful #faithblogger #womenintheword #shewritestruth #christianmom #theblazedtrail #christianblog

Sometimes we find our pride in our people groups, positions and possessions. We strive to keep alive the ventures and what we feel is valuable to us even though they may give us a false sense of worth. When it is time to lay them down, we tighten our grip and hold on. Sometimes this costs us dearly in the secret. What others see in the fore front is a successful & secure individual, but she is really stuck in a cycle of striving beyond her capacity and it costs her the soundness of her mind, her rest, her joy and her peace. It cost her, her spiritual fruit. We must ask ourselves the tough question, am I working diligently but healthily to steward what/who I am called too or has it come to a point where I am keeping up appearances and in reality my efforts are only keeping my pride alive? If it is the later, I encourage you, “it is not worth sacrificing your peace to sustain only your pride.”. If God is truely calling us to an Ephesians 3:20, “exceedingly, abundantly” life experience then we can have the confidence to lay down what He tells us too when he tells us too. For what will we gain if we lay down our pride or that which we find our pride in? We gain Peace, which is the shalom of God (prosperity, health, harmony, physically and spiritually ). Be Brave precious lady and let go if you have too. - Lorraine xo Follow >>>>> @monarchwomen

Today, in between tutoring classes, I took a walk. I do believe today is the very first really sunny here is spring day that we have truly had. and it was marvelous. I could feel the stress of the day melting away. My mind began to wander. to contemplate. and, I saw the very first lovely colorful magnificent butterfly of the season. I smiled. we have tiny wildflowers. we have butterflies. I can hear the spring peepers. and I basked in the warmth of the day. Life is still tough. Rough on the edges and hard on the heart...but, in that moment of sunshine and renewal, I felt alive. free. and wonderful. these are the many blessings that I seek. And, I enjoy. and although I may not be playing the game in which I love, I know deep down, I can find the small flower. the bee. the butterfly. and know that life continues on in all of it's glory. and, I am at peace. ❤️

In the Old Testament book of Judges, we find the story of Deborah, a prophet, judge and mother in Israel. Deborah is reigning during a time when the Israelites are being greatly oppressed by Jabin, the king of Canaan. As a result, the Lord tells Deborah to command a certain man (Barak) to muster the Israelites and go fight Canaan’s army. Rather than obeying God’s command, Barak counters. He tells Deborah he will only go if she goes with him. So Deborah agrees, and in the end, the Israelites destroy the oppressor, and God delivers them.

Following their victory, Judges 5:7 says, “Villagers in Israel would not fight; they held back until I, Deborah, arose, until I arose, a mother in Israel.” More than three-thousand years ago, God equipped a mother to save his people, and today he still does the same! Ephesians 6:12 tells us “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” There is a spiritual battle waging war on our children. But by the power of the Holy Spirit who sustains and equips and protects, we as mothers are effective and victorious in this fight! Just as the Lord equipped a mother named Deborah to defeat Israel’s foes, He will equip you and I today! Follow for more. Have you ever experienced being drowned by all the expectations around you? Have you experienced doubting yourself just because you didn’t fit in with the standards of other people? Have you ever find yourself seeking validation? Have you ever questioned your worth and your abilities? Because honestly speaking, we all have. At some point in our life, may it be in the past or in the present, it is inevitable for us, humans, to feel that we aren’t enough. With all the comparison and expectations around us, it is so easy to feel overwhelmed. There are always this small voice in our heads that pushes us down with all the insecurities and doubts that we have for within ourselves. However, step back and think outside of your perspective. Are we really pushing to be our best in the right circumstances? Yes, you are continuously pushing yourself to be good enough in your work, or in your school, or in your art but...did you ever question yourself if you are doing enough in serving Jesus? That was one of my biggest misconception back then. I feel confident with my grades because I know that I am doing enough to lift them up. I accept praises and applaud because I am good at school. I feel confident with my grades because I know that I am doing enough to lift them up. Until one day, I came to question myself, “Am I doing enough to lift Jesus up in my life? Am I glorifying Him?” We have expectations all around us and mostly, expectations only for those things that are seen. But God has a far greater reward for us when we choose to live for Him. Be good enough for Christ and abundance will flourish endlessly in every aspect of your life. It is amazing to confidently say that we are good at something. It is amazing to brag about those things that we can incredibly do. But there is no greater joy than to confidently serve and glorify your Father in Heaven. Deuteronomy 6:5 KJV And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Let us ceaselessly strive to proclaim, “I love the Lord with all my heart, and with all my soul, and with all my might.” Remember: the best validation that we can acquire is from Christ.

Covering a topic on the blog today that is close to my heart as I've struggled with it and that also makes me slightly nervous to write about...depression. Obviously, it's not a pleasant subject, but the world can be a dark, painful place, and even Christians feel this. I want to have a conversation about it and share some of the things that have helped me ground myself in God and give me perspective to get me through hard seasons in my life, even when my own thinking was to blame. I don't know where you're at with this and I'm obviously not a mental health professional by any means, but I hope that me putting myself and my story out there can help you feel less alone and that you can take something encouraging away from this post. After all, this is why I became a writer—to talk about the painful areas of life and the hope through them through sharing stories and biblical truth. As I continue to mature and grow in my faith and knowledge of this, I will write many more posts on depression! Please let me know how I can support and pray for you by leaving a comment below or messaging me—I'm always happy to help. 💖 Link in bio. ✨ ✨ ✨ #blogger #lifestyleblog #lifestyleblogger #liveauthentic #freedominwords #inspire #writer #writerlife #christian #shereadstruth #proverbs31ministries #bedeeplyrooted #christianblogger #christianwomen #christianblog #faithblogger #christianliving #christianlife #sheislight #iowablogger #sparklesbyashlee #dailyencouragement #faithjourney #shewritestruth #encouragement #dailywisdom #biblicalliving #christianity #faithinspired #goodnewsfeed

We often get it backwards, even if we don’t mean to. We start to beat ourselves up when we fall short or we listen to the Serpent’s lies that push us toward reaching for more, being more, doing more… all for the sake of gaining affection from others, including God. ✨ But Jesus didn’t come for an already-perfect Bride. He knew we were in need of help. He knew we needed saving. But sometimes we still forget we need the Savior, not ourselves. Not the love of others. Not the opinions of man. All we need can be found in the arms of the One who died for us WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS. 🙌🏻💛😭 That’s the kind of love that changes people, purifies hearts, and transforms lives. AMEN!🔥👏🏻 If this gospel truth resonates with you, make sure to check out my book She Believed HE Could, So She Did for more Christ-centered empowerment… Link in my bio to read the first chapter for FREE!👆🏻 #christcentered #shebelievedhecouldsoshedid #thegospeltruth #thebiblesays #thegoodnews #jesusovereverything #shereadstruth #shewritestruth #gospelcentered #discipleofchrist #christiancreative #christianwriters #godlovesus #savedbygrace

God gave instruction to David to pass down to his son, Solomon, the next leader to be King.  -------‐---- God will provide for your needs and reveal truth about your heart so you can be a successful leader. He provides resources, people, wisdom, and direction. He reveals when you're wrong, in need of help or in need of change. God never left David. He guided him, corrected him, and protected him. God reveals through David's leadership what He can do through people who believe and put their trust in Him. In this passage, God is encouraging David to pass on the torch to Solomon to stay faithful and to build the temple of the Lord.  God is the same then as he is today. He wants to use us to reveal His greater purpose and glory to others. We're all called to lead in some capacity, and eventually, we'll pass the torch to others to lead where we used to. Where are you finding leadership challenging in your current circumstance? How can you reflect on God's character for hope to lead better? David was a victorious and successful king in his time. Yet, he still fell short due to his pride and sinful desires. However, true repentance is always accepted by God. David writes in Psalm 51:1-2, "Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin." And in v10, "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." With authentic repentance, any failure in leadership can be redeemed by God. There's no such thing as a perfect leader. Anytime you see a great leader or admire their qualities... they're most likely as aware of their weaknesses as they are their strengths. Don't strive for perfection in your own performance. Rather, strive to elevate people around you by pointing them to the grace of God. He is our perfect leader we look to. David is encouraging his son to believe the same. -‐------------------ #dailydevotional #bibledaily #scriptureoftheday #faithblogger #faithandhope #christianblogger #womenintheword #shewritestruth #biblestudy #graceofgod #christianleadership

I was surprised Herod was excited to see Jesus when he was arrested. But as I read further down, I realized he just wanted to see him "perform", not to convince him he was truly the son of God, but just as entertainment. - how sad! "When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased, because for a long time he had been wanting to see him. From what he had heard about him, he hoped to see him perform a sign of some sort" Jesus' miracles were not an act of entertainment! How do you feel about it? REMEMBER: Every page is a testimony. In June, Josh and will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and our 20 year anniversary of working together! 💚 Some days it seems like yesterday we sat across the desk from the banker and signed our first big loan for a marina on Eagle Mountain Lake and thus began our dependence on rain, which meant growing our faith in the Lord. Without God’s provisions of rain, we couldn’t keep boats in the slips or pay our bills! Many of our friends from that season of our lives still praise God every time it rains because they stood with us so many times believing God for rain during droughts. Especially the drought of 2007 when God took the lake from 10 feet low to 1 foot over full in 41 days! This promise fulfilled is one I go back to often when I begin to doubt in my journey. In the landscape/garden industry most business owners earn 60+ percent of their income in 90-100 days of Spring! So, as you can imagine, rainy days can really put a damper on income. Fortunately, with rain feeling so much like manna to Josh and I the past twenty years, we always celebrate rainy days. We hope that our faith journey can strengthen yours (or at least serve as a cautionary tale to not go into two weather dependent businesses in one career lifetime!) - and you too can find a manna in your life to create a true dependence on God who WANTS to show up for you! This song is a family favorite on rainy days. If you need a little pep in your step today, click through and celebrate the rain with us today. Where I Come From Rain is a Good Thing! https://youtu.be/4VKy69sE4VY?si=F-tB3wiaDVTTnBUl Please let me know how I can pray for your manna on this rainy day. -Terra 🌿🌿🌿 Faith hack: Frame pictures of BIG and SMALL milestones where your prayers were answered so you can call on thm in times of doubt. Bag of bones, Bag of dreams, Bag of thoughts, Is there anything better than placing letters together? Thoughts come to me in the night The urge to write them down, Soon subsides as the day gets a crown. Eyes wide open, a bag of thoughts, Forfeited my hope, beating a dead horse. We watch the sunrise, Too drunk to tell if anything is right, Too drunk to dress, too exhausted to talk, Out of a room silently I walked, If we ever knew how to love, I will be more than just a bag of bones. #PoetryCommunity #WritersLife #MontrealPoets #PoetryInspiration #WritingCommunity #MontrealWriters #PoetryLovers #CreativeWriting #MontrealArtists #PoetryIsLife #mcgillpoetry #OntarioWriters #poetrymonth #shewriteshorror #shewritestruth #shewritespoems #booksforlife #writersofinstagram #unpublished #unpublishedwriter #poetsandwriters #bipocartist #latinamericanwriters #writersoflatinamerica

Holding a person’s word in a higher regard than God’s word is idolatry. John 3:31 (TPT) notes that “the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks from the natural realm. But the One who comes from above is above everything and speaks of the highest realm of all!” When it’s all said and done, we must answer to God and not man for how we live on earth. 🙏💪 The Strength of Surrender ⁣ ⁣ Surrendering to God's will doesn't mean giving up, it means finding strength in letting go and trusting His plan. Let go of your worries and fears, and surrender them to Him. He will give you the strength to face any challenge and the peace that surpasses all understanding.

I’m honored to have an article published in The Daily Grace Co.: Be Still Magazine, Spring 2024. “An Unexpected Encounter: Finding God’s Presence in Unmet Expectations” came out of a difficult season. But through that, God gave me my writing voice back after I thought it was lost forever. There’s something that I’ve found to be true over and over again, God often uses the hardest circumstances to bring us to the place where He can use us for His glory. Whatever you’re walking through today, take comfort in God’s presence with you. Ask Him what He’s trying to show you. Then ask Him what He wants you to do with it. Trust Him to answer––and go forward wholeheartedly. He’s right there beside you. Follow the link in my bio to purchase this beautiful magazine. If you read the article, I’d love to hear your thoughts. @thedailygraceco photo . . #shewritestruth #christianblogger #christianwriter #christianauthor #devotional #devo #faithblogger #christianblog #gritandvirtue #proverbs31woman #lesshustlemoregrace #butfirstJesus #hopewriters #hopewriterlife #compeltraining

John 13:34**I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you should also love one another. By this everyone will know you are my disciples -if you love one another. ❤️Jesus told this to the disciples after washing their feet. Jesus explained to them if He could act as a humble servant- then they that follow him should do the same. Jesus showing them that serving others is the true meaning of a disciple❤️ Lord, help us to look for opportunities today where we can serve others and show the love of God. #loveoneanother #washingthefeetofdisciples #john13 #john13v34 #servegod #truediscipleship #biblejournaling #scripture #scriptureoftheday #bibleverse #bibleart #heisthetruthandthelife #shewritestruth #wellwateredwomen #dayspringbiblejournaling #dayspringcards #lovegodlovepeople #hishandsandfeet

Today 🌞 I read Proverbs 26 and 2 Corinthians 6:1-10, and my mind was renewed with this truth: ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ "Endurance does not describe the frame of mind which can sit down with folded hands and bowed head and let a torrent of troubles sweep over it in passive resignation. [Endurance] describes the ability to bear things ... pass the breaking-point and always greet the unseen with a cheer." - Barclay⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ "People are watching us as we stay at our post, alertly, unswerving, in hard times, tough times, bad times ... yet always filled with deep joy" (2 Cor 6:3,4,10 MSG).

Life is full of challenges, but it's often through these challenges that we grow the most. When faced with obstacles, it's easy to feel overwhelmed or discouraged. However, it's important to remember that every challenge presents an opportunity for growth and development. Instead of shying away from challenges, embrace them wholeheartedly. View them as stepping stones on your journey toward success. Each challenge you overcome strengthens your character, builds resilience, and equips you with valuable lessons for the future. Remember, you are capable of overcoming any obstacle that comes your way. With determination, perseverance, and faith, you can rise above adversity and emerge stronger than ever before. Scripture of the Day: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13 This verse reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles. With the strength of Christ, we can conquer any challenge that stands in our way. Let this truth be your source of encouragement and empowerment as you face the challenges of life. #shewritestruth #shespreakstruth #shebelieves #christianwomen #propelwomen #womenofgod #womenoffaith #godlywomen #womeninministry #jesusgirl #christianparents #faithfamily #powerofaprayingwife #christianmom #christianmoms #christianwife #christianentrepreneurs #christianentrepreneur #christianbusinessowner #christiancreator #christianbusinesses #kingdompreneur #kingdombusiness

“I was widowed almost two years ago.” She says the words bravely, because sharing your deepest hurt + loss is always brave. I look up from my coffee + meet her eyes. “Wait, what? Did you say widowed?” Our stories collide in this moment, finding home within one another, + I’m grateful for the outrageous kindness of Jesus. There is something safe + familiar about connecting with someone who was walked the long road of suffering - someone who knows what it is to physically ache for life before loss - someone who recognizes the welling up of tears and hand to the chest. Gentle reminders for all of us who are harboring the waves of grief — ✨Get into a community. You may not want to, it may scare you, the thought may make you want to hurl…but do it anyway. Bonus points if it’s a community of grievers. There is strength in numbers. ✨Lean into self-compassion. What you’ve experienced is less than ideal, and you need to honor the hard of it. Look it in the face and acknowledge its presence while giving yourself grace for all that you feel you should do or feel. You’re doing so well. ✨Comment below + share how you’re riding the waves. We can create that community right here and support one another with tender love + grace. Believing in someone. Seeing the best in someone. Encouraging someone. Choosing to see someone’s potential can help empower them to become their best self. Stop letting this world sell you something different. Be someone that others can count on. The world makes it seem like it’s cool to be cold hearted, toxic, & isolated. It’s not. Having feelings is cool. Looking out for each other is cool. Teaching & inspiring others is cool. Let all you do be done in LOVE. 🍩🌸 #biblestudymaterials #holygirl #christiangirl #seekhimfirst #purposefulliving #daughterofgod #womanoffaith #wellwateredwoman #jesusovereverything #womanintheword #christianblogger #shewritestruth #shereadstruth #scripture #lampandlight #biblestudy #biblestudygroup #biblegram #biblejournaling #gospel #scripture #scripturestudy #bibleaesthetic #biblereading #biblejournalingcommunity #biblestudy #faithfulservant #godlywife #christianliving

Since the miscarriage of our sweet baby girl, the anthem of this season has been one of learning to declare, “and, yet.” 🤍 The grief still weighs heavy on our hearts since God called her home, “and yet,” we‘ve experienced the nearness of God like never before (Psalm 34:18). The questions still loom in our minds as we cry out for clarity and ask the Lord why, “and yet,” we trust in the faithfulness of God who keeps his promises, all the more (Joshua 21:45). The dreams still feel lost and the despair still sets in, “and yet,” we have hope in the good plans of the Lord, beyond what we could ever ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). As I look at these photos, tears stream down my face, because in this very moment, our sweet girl was still in my belly, just days before the Lord called her home. “And yet,” our hearts are filled with hope as God reminds us of who he is in the midst of our story, writing the pages that we have yet to see (Hebrews 10:23). Over and over, as we grieve through the loss of Grace, as we hold the tension of this hurting, broken world, the constant truth that remains in the midst of our story is the promise of “and, yet,” that continues to draw us back to the Lord. And as we look to Jesus, it is he who cried the greatest “and, yet” of all, as he prayed in the garden, crying out to the Father to remove the cup of suffering, yet took on every ounce of our sin on that cross, because of the great love he had for us. “And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” (Mark 14:36). I don’t know the season you are walking through, the heartache, grief or loss of your story, but I’m praying that you receive the sweet invitation declare “any, yet” in the midst of this present suffering or trial. While we hold the weight of all that is broken of this side of heaven, our greatest “and, yet” is the hope of heaven that is to come, may we cling to this everlasting promise all the more (Revelation 21:1-5).

There’s lots of new faces around here, so I wanted to introduce myself to all of you! 🤍 I’m Claire, a wife and mama, with a love for all things sourdough, motherhood, homeschool and homemaking. We live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in a little house in the city, and seek to fill our days with beauty, intention and the simple joys of home. Whether it’s in the gift of homeschool with my sweet boy, a beautiful loaf of sourdough bread or an afternoon spent in the sunshine while tending to the garden, I believe that there is an invitation to abundance within every moment of our lives. As a writer, photographer and blogger, my heart is to share thoughtful words, beautiful images and lovely recipes that I hope serve as an invitation for the hearts of mothers and homemakers to take hold of the beauty and abundance woven into every moment. I am deeply in love with Jesus, believe in the power of prayer and am simply in awe of his goodness, faithfulness and abundant grace poured out over every corner of my life. I have some exciting announcements coming soon for the sourdough lovers and the homeschool mamas, so stay tuned for more information to come and amazing resources launching this spring! I pray that this space speaks beauty, abundance and hope over your heart. I’m so glad you’re heart and I can’t wait to connect with you! xo, Claire Mariah www.clairemariah.com
