The transformation of our #mttaboratticprimary space still gets me - proper floor planning is magic - and I just cannot believe all that we packed into this space. The before pic shows the large open room that used to be their primary bedroom, and we took that space, divided it up to allow for both a large walk-through dressing room and a full primary suite. Planning around the angles and lack of ceiling height definitely presented challenges and required us to adjust our design process a little bit (we try to strictly stay in 2D before moving to 3D, but we changed that for this case so we could better understand the angles while weighing the head height requirements). Im also including an as-built floor plan and remodel floor plan here (you actually are getting a sliver of a sneak peek at how we illustrate our paint plans for the team on the new floor plan). I realized that I’ve now seen each season at the Abbey … after going there for over 20 years. I still prefer winter but seeing that beautiful pink dogwood was glorious! I’ve said it before, but I will say it again … if I could go back in time give my 20 something year old self a gift, it would be the gift of the practice of silence! Maybe we do some soul searching of our own. Maybe we do nothing. Maybe we let it continue until we are all done. We are all out here spinning around on a giant sphere at a thousand miles per hour trying to get at least something right. Find people that you deserve and that deserve you. Make an effort. Radical Rest (Post 4 of 4) Wake up. Do all the things. Sleep. Repeat. This way of living may seem somewhat normal in the world we live in today. But I take great delight in learning that I am anything but normal 🤭 and discovering, with minimal effort, the beauty that exists outside of being busy all the time. STILLNESS There was a time when I had to spend every waking moment being productive or I would feel guilty for ‘wasting’ time. Even when I took time off, I’d fill it with a never-ending list of chores and errands. It was simply not acceptable to relax or do something for pure enjoyment. These days, I sit still and observe the thoughts in my mind that make me feel like I need to do it all and be everything. Of course they’re still there, but now I allow them to just be instead of always doing something about it. It can show up in many ways: a few minutes of meditation in the morning, deep breathing when I am in a crowded space, or noticing my attempts to perform multiple tasks at the same time and then choosing to focus on just one. When I am still, gently welcoming whatever is there and not trying to force any outcomes, the guidance that I seek arrives without even trying. I recognise how hard I can be on myself and offer myself grace. I appreciate my struggles for opening me up to knowing my true self. I trust that every experience is exactly as it’s meant to be. So much beauty and nourishment from doing absolutely nothing. Always available and generous. Do you feel called to welcome stillness into your life? I worked on 4 square encaustic paintings (on wood), making a fun Spring-y series that look great together. Also, experimented working on minis, creating cute affirmations/ healing reminders. Then, I attended an afternoon workshop at the Art School, working with fused glass - maybe a new favourite material !! (photos coming soon as it was hard to photograph before going in the kiln, but look at my stories for the funky colours I was working with!) I might even sign up for the full course. Spending Sunday evening, wire wrapping crystals and clay faces just for fun !! ✌️ I will be taking part in an art show in a month !! This is the first after a long break from showing/ selling. I will have some of my newer experiments (including encaustics) as well as new and old acrylic/ mixed-media paintings and collages on display. ✨️ Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead. 🙏 May you make time to be creative !! 🧡

2019/20/21.. were the least stressful of my health journey. It's when my body functioned and I felt phenomenal. It was the end of 2021. Major stressors arose. Jan 2022 is when my body failed. •more food sensitivities •muscle weakness •A LOT of digestive issues •thick brain fog Etc. Then I started the hunt for what went wrong. I was looking for something obtainable, something physical I had done or could change. Never once realizing it was invisible and internal. I've spent 1000s on my "quest". I've been in a vicious cycle of external and internal stress for over 2 years! I've done more than one elimination diet. One extreme to the next. Worst of all was "intuitive eating". 🚫 My stomach isn't intuitive at all while stuck in fight or flight. After this whirlwind that has physically, emotionally, mentally exhausted me I've realized I'm in perimenopause. Like I need another brick thrown at me. 👀 I'm up 10 lbs, 15 from where I'd like to be. I eat healthier than most people I know, I work out regularly. My bad foods are still healthier foods. That is where my mental exhaustion started. ⬇️ I never ever in my life had an issue with food UNTIL I decided to get healthy and then got sick. When I broke I became fixated on fixing myself that I am in a constant state of stress. It is what is keeping me stuck. My mental stress has my mindset at a low point. It has me to where I want to but "can't" mentality of doing "one more diet". *A "diet" is a healthy eating plan* I need a plan. It's how I thrive. I just have lost my umph. I'm trying to decide what plan should I do. It needs to empower me, again. My life has been a catch 22 since 2022. This has been a long winded public diary entry. God wants me to open up. People need my story. Need to see and hear my struggle. I need yours. We need one another. I wish I had the happy ever after at the end of this post to share with you. While praying, God laid on my heart that it is His PERFECT Son in whom my faith rests. Salvation comes through our confession of faith in Jesus Christ.
