Some new shots by request from the lovely Manufacturers’ Golf & Country Club. - This is one of Philly’s most underrated, under-appreciated courses. Designed by golden-age great William Flynn in 1925, it should be a place every visitor to the area is trying to play. Recent work by Ron Forse and Jim Nagle have it looking and playing as good as I’ve ever seen it. - The 8th hole - a short par-3 over a canyon to a green sunken into the opposite side - is one of the best holes in the area and an all-timer of a quarry hole (photos 1, 3, 5 & 7). Riverwinds’ #11... The troublesome burn from hole 10 makes another appearance on this par 4 11th hole. The burn flows the entire length of the fairway, so a drive to the right of the hole is a must. The burn then crosses back through the middle of the fairway, so be sure to stay short of that on the tee shot. The hole finishes to a green framed to the right-hand side of the hole, with bunkers protecting the right-hand side of the green. The Ribeye Steak 🥩, perfectly cooked, was a testament to culinary excellence. The whole roasted Rabbit 🐇, tender and flavorful, melted in my mouth like a dream. The braised Venison 🦌 showcased a harmony of flavors that made every bite a culinary masterpiece, and the Turtle Soup 🐢, an adventurous choice, added a unique and intriguing twist to the evening's offerings.
