💙🤍🧡 #HalcyonForever It’s been 114 days since the penultimate voyage, our final voyage, on the #StarWarsGalacticStarcruiser … and we are still not okay. The kids still ask took go back WEEKLY. #CaptainKeevan and #Ouannii are still common topics of conversation. Gaya’s music plays with regularity, stories of adventures with Lenka in the engine room and helping Sammy, surface often. Hopes to see Saja again soon are often expressed. 9 times out of 10 we tap in at Park touch points with our Halcyon bands on. We’ve serendipitously run into former crew across Parks and Resorts, which has been a genuine delight: both to see them and to see them well-landed on planet… but everyone misses Lady H. While we are better for the experiences onboard the #GalacticStarcruiser, and share knowing, immediate connections with others who also journeyed (👋 @adamschicklingillustration — currently at EPCOT FotA)… it’s a void inside still, too. Acknowledging that this may sound dramatic, but it feels like loss in a way not dissimilar to when a family member or friend is no longer in our lives. Hey there everyone! It's been almost a month since I've posted. It's been a bit crazy and I haven't had a chance. With that being said I figured I show off a set of figures I was elated to get my hands on! Disney Droid Factory Chandrila Star Line SK-620 & D3-09 I truly didn't think I'd be able to get my hands on or afford these figures without being close to Disney or having a connect. I was wrong! #Whatnot has lead me to find some AWESOME sellers. I love both of these figures. The astromech has an awesome color scheme between the navy, orange and white. D3-09 is simply an awesome figure to have overall. I love the card back, and design of the figure. It's a unique one I think we've only seen with Dexter's waitress droid. However she obviously has a wheel and not legs. All in all I'm stoked about these additions! From hugs to hyperspace levers, resolving engineering room issues to running interference with Lothcat droid races, our little heroes were given gifts of core memories and unforgettable moments by #Lenka. At various story points beginning with Muster, #TheHalcyon’s #CruiseDirector commands the room with conviction and cheer, courage and charisma. She charms a scoundrel charmer, brings hope aboard and believes in the light… and is a steadfast friend to droids (AKA good people)… but you can also see the human behind the character come through, the woman giving life to Lenka. Meet Set: she comes from the rust-mining desert planet Vaklin. While excavating the ruins of the fallen Jedi temple on her planet she felt a connection with the Force, and was granted visions. Not wanting to forget any detail, she painted the visions - visions of a ship, a brave captain, a traveling musician, and a girl from another desert. These all led her to the Halcyon, There, she learned from the Saja, ignited the spark of resistance with Captain Keevan, helped (babysat) the new mechanic Sammie, reclaimed the Hayananeya with Raithe Kole, introduced her droid to SK, and at the end of it all, met the girl from the desert: Rey. Rey gave her the most important task she’d ever been charged with: protecting the injector which she brought onboard to save the Halcyon. Honestly, despite all the backlash for that extremely pricey unique hotel experience, I wouldn't actually mind experienceling it in-person myself. 🌌 “But for now, it’s time to begin our voyage home…Here’s to the end of an extraordinary journey, and the beginning of a thousand more …” - Lenka Monk, Cruise Director As a ship full of passengers and #GalacticStarcuiser super fans were guided through endings heavier than merely #AStarWarsStory, with words whose meanings suddenly carried much more than voyages before, we shared what will forever be an embedded moment in our lives… a hard feels experience with friends from before and others made onboard our four voyages. Last night there were many, MANY tears of genuine love and deep appreciation — and even pure joy. For our nearly 8 yo, while many of the big kids around her wept, there was only elation in seeing her full energy help save the day with her friends in our Cruise Director, Captain, ship’s mechanic, a superstar and her manager & musicians, a Jedi hero and stowaway Wookiee. Olivia *believes* in an entirely different way than her parents, who also believe - because it is real. Or to quote a famous scoundrel: “It’s true, all of it.” So as our voyage wraps this morning (while I type this, the ship’s autonomous pilot announced our hyperspace jump back home 😭), to what Olivia believes to be merely the end of this route for the Halcyon (May it fly forever to other adventures elsewhere…), we are many many emotions …but most of all? Grateful. Goodbye to the #GalacticStarcruiser and its amazing crew, its Captain Keevan … Lenka Mok, Sammie, Raithe Cole, Gaya, Ouannii, SK, Rey, Chewbacca, and Saja guides. And yes, Lt. The stories I’ve experienced through larp and immersive theatre have changed my life, the Starcruiser is shining light within that. The Halcyon will sail for the last time tomorrow, this is my goodbye and thank you. Tomorrow is the last voyage for the Galactic Starcruiser and I’m not okay #halcyonforever • As you probably know, I was so fortunate to go on a Halcyon trip with my stepdad. It was the first time I paid for a vacation on my own from my job. • I always thought that it sounded so fun, but it was a once in a lifetime trip that you do once ONLY, because it’s the same if you go again. I quickly saw that I wanted to go again. And again and again. With friends, family, alone. I wanted to try new paths, be a new character, befriend new people. • By the time we took our trip to June, I knew it would truly be the only time I could do it. I still don’t want to believe it. • I spoke with the Starcruiser team today to share how much I hope this experience sticks around. I wish it could be the same if not better but no matter what, I cannot let this ship go. It was truly incredible. The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, though short lived, touched my life, and many others, in a big way. I was so excited to see the @togetherasone5k as a way to come together as one to celebrate this incredible experience. @skybound.rob and I received our race packs today and will be completing our 5k on Friday as part of my birthday celebration. I am sad to see the end of the Halcyon, but happy for the experiences and friendships it brought.
