Repurposed Imperial Control Panel. “The remoteness of Batuu in the Outer Rim has become a trope over the years, but at no time better demonstrated than during the reign of the Galactic Empire. Though the Empire showed interest in several ‘out of the way’ planets like Lothal, Batuu was not deemed important enough to host any permanent Imperial presence. Too far away from the Core, most people said. Despite one notorious incident at Oga’s Cantina during that time, many residents could go months without seeing Stormtoopers at all. As such, many smugglers used Black Spire Outpost as go-between for black market Imperial supplies and technology. Occasionally, this lucrative supply would seep into the surrounding marketplaces, and even today there are vendors in BSO that sell old Imperial-era trinkets to curious tourists. As most Imperial technology proved to be incompatible with the existing infrastructure, items like this door control panel were creatively recycled to serve much simpler purposes. In contrast, the First Order’s emergence from the Unknown Regions makes Batuu a more viable location for a garrison and launching point into the greater galaxy”. This Death Star Door Control Panel was made by @magicprops88 ! When new, it looked just like the one seen in ANH (S3). However, I wanted to imagine what one would look like 30 years on, so I enlisted #starcrusherdesigns to help put down a base coat of weathering. Filling the “portholes” with faux succulents seemed like a perfect touch in taking this from sterile Imperial style to reclaimed wall decor. I added the rust effects myself, using a blend of acrylic & oil paint, plus wood filler I manipulated to create texture. [04.25.2025] Since my brother is a HUGE #StarWarsFan of course we went to #StarWarsNite So we embarked on a #StarWars adventure and went to the outer rim on the planet of #Batuu ☺️Where we then joined the #Resistance in an epic battle against the #FirstOrder to see a #RiseOfTheResistance Next we took a #StarTours and made a jump to #hyperspace aboard a space flight and got a transmission from #CassianAndor and #AhsokaTano where we found out that @_emmyrod_ was the chosen #rebel 😄hidden amongst us😂I guess that explained why we saw the #MarchOfTheFirstOrder once we landed😃So we went to a #galaxy far far away but got engaged in a #StarFighter combat while we were in #HyperspaceMountain After we made our way to the #BlackSpireOutpost where we stopped by #DokOndarsDenOfAntiquities to shop. Today's Satisa Saturday is very special. It's the 1 year anniversary of the first ever Satisa Saturday post!! So, to celebrate, let's explore her evolution, shall we? Pic 1: the first iteration. At this time, I didn't have a character name. July 2021 Pic: 2: The first alteration happened, the addition of a hood! In Florida heat, it's a great relief. February 2022 Pic 3: the big addition of makeup in the fall of 2022. It was Pantoran inspired, but I still didn't have an official character name. Pic 4: I started adding a gold stripe on my cheeks to push the Pantoran look more. It was around this time I finally came up with her name: Satisa Bellator. (I also met my bestie @geekwithanorangejeep around this time, who inspired me to start expanding my character's background more.) Pic 5: The next big addition was a wig. Pantorans have very different hair colors. Plus, a second gold stripe and a gold triangle on my forehead. The main outfit still hadn't changed at this point until... Pic 6: June 2023 is when I finally updated and overhauled the main outfit. All sewn by me, of course. Pic 7 and 8: At this point, Satisa’s story had begun to really change and expand, giving me inspiration for two new outfits: Diplomat Satisa and Missions Satisa. So there you have it! What started as a simple outfit with no name expanded into the Satisa Bellator we all love and enjoy today! 💫 Star Wars Nite 2024 💫 ✨ I had the best time with my new Padawan Ahsoka look but that headpiece is no joke! Super uncomfortable but worth it for the cosplay. 😂 I got so many comments and questions (the “Hey Snips” from the Anakin cosplayers were priceless), and I can't wait to wear it again (for less than seven hours). ✨ I didn’t do any of the character greetings and only did one photo spot so I had plenty of time for the shows and gatherings this round (swipe for some Modal Nodes Magic and March of the First Order) and they did not disappoint! ✨ Every year I plan to try more of the special foods and every year I fail. 😂 This year, apparently I will eat anything dressed as a Wookiee. 🤷🏻♀️ ✨ If you're planning a visit for Star Wars Nite and you have never been, plan your night carefully. It's not exactly safe, but it most certainly is a haven for those that are just passing by for a quick stop, or staying for an ideal visit. Eventually though, even the most ruthless of infamous criminals get hungry. Ronto Roasters is a top-class restaurant at Black Spire that serves customers fine meats, cooked to perfection by none other than 8D-J8. A reprogrammed Smelter Droid from the sands of Tatooine, 8D-J8 is the head chef at this fine establishment, although he has gotten complaints from the owner for being too talkative. He's received countless reprogrammings in an attempt to stop this behavior, but to no avail. 8D-J8 does his job well though, keeping a close eye on the hefty podracer engine that cooks various meats to perfection. Be it Kyryll Pork Rinds, Zuchii Wraps, or the establishment's famous Ronto Wraps, 8D-J8 is programmed to learn it all with quick efficiency. Many customers have reported that the droid is the true mastermind behind the dishes, despite the owner initially inputting the recipes into the droid's programming. One day, 8D-J8 wishes to take over the restaurant and become the owner, but that will take time. May 4th 2022 : Leia bound. • realistically I was miserable. I had an endometriosis flare, I was unable to regulate my emotions and felt terrible about not being able to “fake it” for my friends. Cropped jacket progress for #WIPwednesday If you zoom in, you can see the stitch work is not super pretty but totally unnoticeable. Patting myself on the back for this tricky handwork. First ever. And it's not my usual finish as everything else I've made was on a machine, but I'm happy with this. Still some work to do. One thing I will stress is save those cutoffs! With the long bit I cut off the bottom of the shirt, I might make an angled lapel piece to add more detail. I also have some webbing stashed away in this color, so I could also add details to cover button holes on the chest pockets. The cutoff from the collar is a great size and shape for another project I have in mind, so I saved that, too. It's for a hat thing. Stay tuned!
