Fifteen years ago, during my first visit to Uganda, I stayed at Cassia Lodge - a hotel that holds a special place in my heart. Even today, I love visiting this hotel for the breathtaking views it offers. On a beautiful, sunny day, the sight is truly worth seeing. While the sunset may be on the opposite side of the view, it's still a sight to behold. Under Italian management, the food at the hotel has improved significantly. The decor has remained unchanged for over a decade, but its old-style gives it an authentic feel. The rooms also remain unchanged, but at $140 per night, they are reasonable - particularly if you can snag a room with an amazing view - perfect! The hotel's small swimming pool may not be large, but it too offers incredible views, providing the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun. Located atop Buziga Hill, Cassia Lodge offers a tranquil retreat with stunning views of Lake Victoria. Trust me; it is breathtaking - you'll definitely want to bring your camera to capture the beauty. The customer service is top-notch, especially under the new management. The staff is friendly, helpful and will make you feel right at home. If you're looking for a place to stay in Uganda, I highly recommend Cassia Lodge. Fifteen years ago, during my first visit to Uganda, I stayed at Cassia Lodge - a hotel that holds a special place in my heart to this day. Whenever I get the chance to revisit, I'm always excited to indulge in the stunning views that the lodge offers. Even though the sunset can't be seen from this side of the hill, the scenery is still incredibly beautiful on a sunny day. Currently managed by an Italian team, the hotel's dining experience has improved significantly. While the decor has remained unchanged for over a decade, it has an authentic, old-fashioned charm that I appreciate. The room designs have also stood the test of time, and at a reasonable $140 per night, a stay in one of the rooms with amazing views is perfect. The swimming pool may be small, but it offers a great location to relax and take in the stunning views of Lake Victoria on a sunny day. Sitting atop Buziga Hill, Cassia Lodge is an incredibly peaceful location with breathtaking views of Lake Victoria. It's a photographer's dream, and I highly recommend taking a camera to capture the beauty of the surroundings. Under the new management, the customer service has improved greatly, with friendly and helpful staff. Day 4 of Uganda Lodges inspection. Today marked the fourth day of this amazing Fam trip, we visited primate lodge Kibale. A luxury lodge strategically located right in the middle of Kibale national park, just a 5 minutes walk to the start of the chimpanzee trekking point. It's the only lodge located inside this park and the amenities include accommodation in 10 luxury ensuite rooms including a beautiful honeymoon cottage, a sitting lounge, bistros bar and a massage parlor where you can relax after that long chimpanzee trekking activity. Just adjustcent to the lodge is a new community project called Cafe Kibale which offers snacks, coffees, juices and a simple hot meal to clients after or before the forest activity. What makes this project unique, is that it offers free training to the youths in the surrounding communities to equip them with hospitality skills and all funds collected from the Cafe goes back to the community, isn't that a good idea and a goal towards achieving sustainable tourism.
