✨Adventures by Disney✨ Let me tell you about one of the many things that made this trip incredible… our Adventure Guides Alyssa and Ralph! Each adventure has 2 guides, a Disney Cast Member and a “local expert”. Since this adventure is in California, it is a little different than every other trip Adventures by Disney offers. Both guides are long time Disney Cast Members and they are both local. These 2 WORKED the entire trip! They were always taking photos for us with our devices as well as their own, they were making sure all 28 of us were completely immersed in the moment, they made sure we were safe and happy and the hardest part is the made sure every single person got one on one attention and unique opportunities the entire trip! The amount of work they did “behind the scenes” even when we were not around is mind blowing to ensure we had a seamless trip! When we split up Friday morning for the last time, Lily cried… my 7 year old was bawling because she did not want to leave the 2 people that made her trip memorable. ✨Day 3 of Adventures by Disney SoCal and Disneyland✨ EPIC We were told to pack our bags up and have them waiting by our door at 7am that we would see them later so we started our day then. -Breakfast at the Loews Hollywood Hotel -Checkout -Boarded our coach and took a ride to The Walt Disney Studios -Toured to Studio Lot -Got to see some of The Disney Archives and hold an Oscar that Walt Disney himself accepted -Got to shop at the exclusive cast store -Ate lunch at the commissary -Boarded the coach and rode to Walt Disney Imagineering -Got a tour of the studios- how they create the live action shows, sound tracks for ride and attractions, how sculptures are made and even so original artwork and models of attractions -Again, got to shop at the exclusive cast member store there -Boarded our coach and rode to Disneyland Resort -Got our keys to our room at Disneys Grand Californian -Had dinner at The Storyteller’s Cafe -Toured Walt Disneys apartment on Main Street -Used some preloaded Lightning Lanes -VIP viewing of the nighttime fireworks -😴 What a core memory day! Now you can make reservations for characters breakfast on DCL website, but they always have some reservations to make on embarkation day! 3. Take time to play Bingo, the staff makes it so much fun. Just one card.. its not very costly. 4. Take an autograph book with a sharpie that can fit in the spiral of it and keep with you in a bag at all times you'll never know when you come across a character or special moment. 5. Bring large mugs and make Coke floats. Or bring sundae toppings (sprinkles, marshmallows, mini-m&m's etc) and make sundaes. Grab a cup from the drink station to use for a larger serving of ice cream. 6. You can request a booster seat, high chair and bed rails on your online reservation and pack-n-play in your state room. They also have diaper genies. 7. Buy the drink of the day in the souvenir the first day and have it refilled the rest of the trip for almost half price. 8. Check your photos at Shutters throughout the cruise- Do not wait until the night before you disembark- it is a madhouse! 9. You can buy a length of sailing Disney Cruise Photo Package. This can be a good value if you are planning on taking a lot of photos. This will give you all the photos that you have taken on your cruise. If you think you are going to buy a number of photos it will bring the cost per photo down if you buy a package. 10. The hot tub in the adult area is usually quiet on the first night. Go to the soda fountain on deck or near the food at the island - unlimited soda for free, just gotta walk a few steps. 2. Take the time to do the Mid-Ship Mysteries with your kids. This is unique to Disney ships! Dream and Fantasy only. 3. Take the kids to Deck 4 and watch the pilot boat as the pilot exits the ship as you get out of the port. 4. Sail aways are always nice to watch at each port! We recommend from one of the top decks and keep your ears open for the special Disney horns! 5. At least one night spend the $ and go to the adults only restaurant. Feed the kids and send them to the kids club. They will love it and it's SO worth it!! 6. Use the DCL Navigator App! You can see every activity and "favorite" the one you are interested in. Then you have an itinerary for each day with all of the activities you are interested in. You can also see the dinner menus and drink of the day for the entire cruise. 7. You have to stay at pool deck to watch the special "sailing away" with the characters. If you want to be on the PTZ camera for Port Canaveral, it's at "Fish Lips", only visible from the Starboard/Right side, Deck 12 Midship where the glass partitions go around the trash cans is the best place to catch it, that’s usually where the Banners are being held. (This is on the Dream or Fantasy.) 9. If it's your first cruise, go to the performances every night. Just make yourself do it. They are amazing!! 10. You can watch ANY Disney movie at ANY time in your room by using On Demand. It's great for bedtime!! Bonus Tip!! Mickey bars are available for dessert every night in the main dining room. Also, you can order multiple items in the main dining room... you want 2 shrimp cocktails...3 escargot? Review your Navigator app each night, so you know what to plan for the next day! 3. If you are worried about how you will communicate with members of your party when you are in separate areas of the ship...fear not! The Navigator App has a function similar to that of text messaging. The Navigator App is free to use on ship Wi-Fi. 4. I bring hand sanitizer that we use frequently and there is plenty of stations throughout the ships. 5. If you plan to snorkel on Castaway Cay, some people like to take thier own equipment. This saves the rental fees and you won't have to use one that was used by someone else before. You will only need to get the required snorkel vest...which is free and you get it at the same place where you rent the mask. 6. Sign up for the wifi (paid) on the first day and you get 50MB free. Make sure to turn your phone to airplane mode once you leave the port also turn of anything that fetches data on its own--You can blow through the free 50 MB before you know it if you aren’t careful on certain ships. Also make sure to log out of your account so you don’t leak data. 7. Gratuities are automatically added in (18%) when you order drinks from the bar or at dinner. 8. Disney cruise line has a Pirate Night for each sailing (except for Alaskan cruises and Frozen-themed cruises). There are fireworks! There is also an amazing deck party & show. 9. Instead of showing up early, show up towards the end of the time required to the safety/muster drill on the first day. Don't be late, because once the crowd is assembled and you haven't been scanned in they will start searching the ship for you. 10. Pack tide pods, and a pop-up hamper.
