Non conosco bene le varie serie, ma questa dovrebbe essere una delle ultime, quarta o quinta serie, quindi presumibilmente di un anno compreso tra il '64 ed il '68. Another fruitful trip to Pismo Derelicts! This 1953 Sunbeam Alpine roadster was surrounded by admirers as I approached. I had not seen this car at the Derelicts before! As it turns out, the car is a recent purchase for Jeff, who also owns a ‘36 Morris 8 Woody bread wagon, Silver Dawn Rolls Royce and a couple other quirky cars that I’ve posted here in previous posts. Rootes Group produced the Sunbeam Alpine Mark I 2-seat roadster from 1953-‘55 and built 1,582, of which only an estimated 200 roadsters survive, today! They are powered by a 2,267cc, 97.5hp 4-cylinder motor and backed by a standard-shift transmission. This is an elegant automobile that competed well with the other offerings from Morris Garages, Fiat and the Japanese cars about to flood the automobile markets in America. Temporary exhibition in Brussels' car museum @autoworld_brussels : the vehicles of No Time to Die are back in town for this small Bond in Motion repeat. The museum has hundreds of cars and motorbikes on display, from the late 19th century to the present days, from all over the world and with a special place for Belgian engineering history. A great museum which is not just for "car people", lots of fun and trivia facts. You can also spot famous cars such as the Pink Cadillac (Elvis owned one), the Porsche 550 Spyder (James Dean died in one of these) and the Alpine Roadster from Sunbeam (Grace Kelly drives one in To catch a thief).

La roadster inglese nasce nel 1953 specificamente per i rally, e proprio da questa sua attitudine nasce il nome Alpine: doveva essere un esemplare unico, ma ne furono poi costruite circa 3 mila. Solo due anni dopo nasce la nuova Sunbeam Alpine Roadster, che potete vedere in foto: ben 5 le serie prodotte fino al 1968 in 70 mila esemplari! Ma la storia delle Alpine inglesi non termina qui: arriveranno le Alpine Fastback nonché le Talbot Alpine, versione inglese della Simca 1307. 🌍 Alpine, Renault. Rootes decided instead to contract the assembly work to #Jensen at #WestBromwich in #England🏴 , and pay #Shelby a royalty on every car produced. Production ended in #1967 soon after the Rootes Group was taken over by #Chrysler , which did not have a suitable engine to replace the #FordV8 . Owing to the ease and affordability of modifying the #Tiger, there are few remaining cars in standard form
