Happy #flamingofriday These are the lesser flamingos found at the front of the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. Called lesser because they're smaller than other types of flamingos, their attitudes are plenty large and they are amazingly colorful. While visiting Animal Kingdom the other day, I saw there is a new covered seating area at Tamu Tamu refreshments and next to it is a little garden containing this sign in several places. I'm not "lion" when I say I had the most amazing safari this morning. It was a great day for #safarisaturday The male lion roared a bit for us and then settled in to watch over his domain. The rhinos were playing, the mandrills were out and I even saw baby Corra the elephant for the first time (last photo that's really poor quality cause that little girl does not like to stay still!). And I even met the most amazing family sitting beside me who were actively and passionately sharing their love and knowledge about animals to their little daughter so she will grow up to love these animals like them. I really wanted to show off these beautiful photos I got of Nimbus for #macawmonday but I forgot and now I'm too impatient to wait for #wingedencounterswednesday so instead I'm going to use #treeoflifetuesday to highlight this handsome guy. Nimbus doesn't always come out for #wingedencounters so it's a treat when he does. He stands out among the other #macaws as the only all blue one. And I feel like he knows how special he is because he always waits for all the other macaws to leave so he can get some special attention and treats from the awesome keepers who seem to always need to carry him back to his home back stage. Completely got this idea from @dintroverts as they highlighted their favorite park, EPCOT, and gave a five-senses portrait of the park. I used to use the technique with my daughter when she got overwhelmed but to be honest, it never worked really well for her. But you know who it did work really well for? Me! I use it a lot when I'm struggling to fall asleep or when I'm in a prolonged stressful situation (for example, when I need to get massive dental work I mentally put myself in the middle of Main Street and go through the five senses and then move to each area of the park). Anyway, since Animal Kingdom is my favorite park, I decided to try it with this park. Let me know how I did. How about a #theaterthursday Now that the Diwali lanterns and lights are hung in this area, it has become one of the most beautiful areas of Animal Kingdom. You simply must visit it at dusk or at night to see it come alive.
