Taiwan summer ♥️ I made my cousins go on many hikes, and they were all brutally hot 🥵 but we smiled through it all (see 2nd pic) some tips when you go hiking in Taiwan: 🐞BRING BUG SPRAY … there are so many lil bugs in Taiwan and every time I’m here I get eaten alive. I don’t know why they like me so much? 🤔 but bring the bug spray it’s a necessity!!! 🧴SUNSCREEN … use the sun cream! Taiwan’s sun beats down so you need to be prepared. It’s not uncommon to see people with long sleeves, hats, long pants, AND umbrellas on some less rigorous trails 🤣 🚌 HOW TO GET THERE AND RETURN HOME … Taiwan’s bus system is very convenient. It can take you to many trail heads! But sometimes the bus system can run on limited schedules so it’s important to know when you can expect them to come and go and from where! We had to wait long times occasionally for bus rides because we didn’t do extensive research before we went. We ended up missing buses by a couple minutes and the next one didn’t come for another hour 💀 lots of 7-11 hang outs 🤣 bus transportation in Taiwan is amazing but just be prepared and know what’s going on before you go lol 👍 💧BRING WATER duh … stay hydrated! the sun is intense. so just be prepared and have everyone in your party carry some water to be on the safe side 😇 📍Bitoujiao

👟 In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks. - John Muir Other than rushing to catch the bus, most of our walks are relaxing and slow. Clocking at least 20K steps daily till we reached Taipei when we were affected by rain and cold snap. This time, hubby and I did a plan-as-we-move kind of Taiwan trip. Thankfully, everything turned out fine! The only regret is coming during winter, and affected by cold snap, else we could have done more water and land adventures.
