Has anyone heard the story of sitting bull. “The most stunning display of his courage came in 1872, when the Sioux clashed with the U.S. Army during a campaign to block construction of the Northern Pacific Railroad. As a symbol of his contempt for the soldiers, the middle-aged chief strolled out into the open and took a seat in front of their lines. Inviting several others to join him, he proceeded to have a long, leisurely smoke from his tobacco pipe, all the while ignoring the hail of bullets whizzing by his head. Upon finishing his pipe, Siting Bull carefully cleaned it and then walked off, still seemingly oblivious to the gunfire around him. His nephew White Bull would later call the act of defiance “the bravest deed possible.””- @history From the history I have read, most of the native chiefs were related and traces of ancestry date back 20,000 years here in New Mexico. I am for a fact related to the Native Chieftain of the local tribe that established Albuquerque with my grandfather from a couple generations back. He was an Ambassador named Don Juan Carlos Griego and made peace with the native tribes. He was sent by King Felipe IV to find New Spain, which is now New Mexico. So a lot of us might be related to the Natives and Spanish Conquistadors. The German influence came later. The New Mexico Soap Bar. What do you think? New Mexico is where I was raised and has such a special place in my heart. It has molded me as a person. I wanted to put a few of my favorite memories in the soap. The embed on top is a chile ristra. We used to make and hang ristras all around our porch to dry out our Hatch Chile. It is a requirement of any New Mexican to love their Hatch Chile. The scene on the face of the soap bar is the Sandia Mountains, the clear blue skies with rolling clouds, and the blazing dessert sun.
