A few little touches and tweaks to the design, like scribing to the tree, really brought home the simplicity of the minimalist screen and let the cedar shine. Everything was pre-cut and jigged into place, except these knee-braces. Let's start the day with a shower. I can't show you the interior of the glorious master bathroom, but I can show you the shower from the outside. The shower has floor to ceiling marble, several systems of jets, rainfall, waterfall and massaging shower heads and a sound system that would put most "gangstas" cars to shame. This shower has an uninterrupted 180° panoramic view of the Fraser River and surrounding local mountains. The master suite also includes his and hers walk in closets, with his and hers powder rooms adjoining to each respectively. The sunlight glinting off the statue caught my eye on this cold winter's day. They're hauling a lot of furniture and flowers into the house right now and it's really cold here running crown moldings near the door. I'm not overly religious or spiritual, but it's always a joy for me to build things that have personal meaning for the homeowner. We got to do quite a bit of trim in and around the temple, so I thought I'd give you a peek inside this private temple not many people get to enter. It's beautiful, true that. It's very well made, indeed. But it's so much more. Before it gets covered with paint, let me show you something dozens of people were involved in. In a house this size, there were 6 finish carpentry teams. 3 of those teams have work meeting here. On top of that there is electrical, communications, lighting, millwork, custom CNC work, stonework, glasswork, hardwood flooring, AV, and of course the structural work to support it all. I am a proud supporter of @homedepot for various reasons, but mainly because of the SUPPORT the company gives to the disenfranchised, the U.S. veterans, the underdogs & the DIY DOERS... 🔨🔨🛠 Today, they left me HANGING, BIG TIME at store #3812 Beechmont Rd in #Cincinnati and I couldn't believe it. I asked for help, pushed a huge load of plywood through the store, and 20 mins later, began to load almost 1000 lbs of material, alone. As I was almost done, I saw one young man, Ian, run from the back of the store to the parking lot, to help me, as soon as he was called (the cashiers saw me pushing the 2nd load in a MUCH DIFF MOOD than before). I insisted on buying his lunch bc LIFE IS ALL ABOUT SUPPORTING ONE ANOTHER.
