IHIT say a suspect involved in a deadly stabbing in White Rock last week has been arrested. The White Rock RCMP responded to a report of injured man in the 15400-block of Marine Drive just before 9:30pm Tuesday night. 26-year-old Kulwinder Singh Sohi was found on the White Rock Promenade at the parking lot adjacent to the Grand Chief Bernard Robert Charles (Pa-Kwach-Tun) Memorial Plaza suffering from stab wounds. Despite lifesaving measures from first responders, he died at the scene. Today, IHIT, with support from the Integrated Emergency Response Team, arrested a 28-year old man from Surrey in connection to the homicide. Police say 19-year-old Simran Khattra was last seen around 6:30pm on April 27th in the 13300 Block of 88 Avenue in Surrey. She has not been seen or heard from since. Simran is described as a 19-year-old south Asian female who is 5’3” tall and weighs 159 lbs. She has brown eyes and black hair. Friends, family and members of the community showed up to pay their respects at a vigil last night for Kulwinder Singh Sohi. The mayor and city council also attended. Trevor Halford, MLA for Surrey-White Rock said “We’re broken. This is a community that I’ve lived in my entire life, and I can tell you people are, are scared, they’re frustrated and they’re angry, and I’m all those things as well right now,” he said. “I think we as a community, we’re gonna come through this. This person needs to be caught and put where they deserve, that’s behind bars, and we need to get justice for this young man.” White Rock Mayor Megan Knight also spoke at the gathering. “We are just devastated in our community.
