CALATHEA Mais c'est duuuur à entretenir ces jolies plantes 😭 nous on fait comme ça : Exposition : Ensoleillée à mi-ombre mais pas de soleil direct. Près d'une fenêtre au nord, ce sera nickel. Sol : Un bon terreau à plante verte sera idéal. N'oubliez pas de mettre des billes d'argile au fond du pot ! Arrosage : Arrosez régulièrement pour maintenir la motte humide mais pas besoin de la noyer. Placez-la sur un lit de billes d'argile avec un peu d'eau pour augmenter le taux d'hygrométrie de la plante, c'est important car les calatheas ont besoin d'humidité. Si les feuilles commencent à s'enrouler : arroooosez ! Sinon ses feuilles vont commencer à sécher. Bouturage : Par division de motte au printemps ou avec un rejet à la base de la plante. Mieux la comprendre : Vous pouvez bassiner la plante de temps en temps (une fois par mois, par exemple). En la plongeant dans une bassine d'eau pendant une dizaine de minutes, la terre va pouvoir se gorger d'eau, ça va lui faire du bien ! Ensuite, il faut bien la laisser s'égoutter. Et vous ? O R N A T A Calatheas are ground cover plants from the tropical forests of Brazil so these guys thrive in a warm position with medium filtered to soft light. If the leaves appear to be fading or losing their patterning and colour you may have them in too bright a position – move them to somewhere a little more sheltered. Keep them away from heating/cooling units as they are very sensitive to cold or hot drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations. During winter, when the plant isn’t in an active growing phase you should reduce watering frequency and use tepid/room temperature water. Best to water every 7 - 10days. With all plants, drainage is essential. Ensure that whatever vessel your plant is in, there are sufficient holes in the bottom to allow excess water to freely drain from the pot and away from the plant’s roots. Calatheas thrive in HIGH humidity environments, this is one of the major things that trips new plant parents up, especially if we have heaters, aircon or draughty windows and door in the house – this dries out the air and can quickly damage our plants. Durante la notte quando viene a mancare la luce del sole, le foglie tendono a salire verso l’alto per andare alla ricerca della luce riflessa dalla luna. Le sue foglie sono in grado di assorbire le microparticelle di inquinamento e riescono a purificare l’aria degli appartamenti in città.
