The Tradescantia Tiana. One of the few tracescantias that I still like I'm afraid. When I first started buying plants, I must have got around 15 different tradescantia. . This #tradescantiatiana keeps it's colour no matter where you put it. The only problem is if put too far from light then it's gets leggy (like all tradescantia in my experience). Otherwise though it grows reasonable more compact, and slower. Other tradescantias grow too fast for my liking, and lose colour if don't give enough light. I just don't like #tradescantia enough to give them prime real estate in my home, so I've given many away now. . Philodendron Birkin. I love the pin stripe foliage on this one. It's funny how some plants rise and fall in demand or favour. Once quite hard to get a hold of, is now quite readily available and therefore no longer 'rare' and less coveted. I quite like it when plants I love become cheaper to buy so it's win win for me! I know itโs Thursday but every Thursday feels like Friday to me because of my three day nursing work ๐ so um, happy #philodendronfriday ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ โ Iโm still figuring out the balance with my out of nursing work life, I run the shop with Steve๐ชดbut I also run this account (which takes A LOT of time!) and I often spend a full day replying to messages/comments/story tags or creating content for either of the Instagram accounts. I feel like I have two full time jobs alongside my part time nursing one ๐ โ Donโt get me wrong, I actually freaking ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฏ๐ it, talking with you all and being creative with the content Iโm creating, but Iโm very aware that lock down restrictions are lifting, which means more socialising (yay!) but then that means more to do with the same amount of time and I often donโt feel like I have enough time as it is ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ โ I know I wonโt be the only one who has experienced this feeling, so much to do with so little time. Tradescantia Spathacea Also known as Boatlily and Moses in the cradle This little fella has just been posted onto my etsy shop and is currently the only one of it's kind on etsy (in the uk) and is the only baby I have!! (Now sold) The 3rd pic is of the mother plant which is about 18 months old Its such a pretty member of the tradescantia family (if you didnt already realise, I rather like my trads!) . When you buy a stripey cutting hoping that you'll have a stripey plant... Well its sent out 2 new shoots..one side is solid purple like my normal pallida and one side is just the neon pink (oh and it has one white leaf on the pink side) It's very beautiful..so I'm not complaining, just not what I expected! Should I have done anything to help promote the stripe to continue? I have a poorly plant ๐ well really, it's a not-very-well-cared-for-by-the-original-grower plant. I ordered this cute little Philodendron Birkin online a couple of weeks ago, and he arrived last week utterly overwatered, with yellowing leaves. I left him alone to dry a little and acclimate, but have just had to remove FIVE leaves, and as you can see this other one was partially severed and has now fallen off. . Underrated plants! What plants do you have and it seems everyone has one so it gets a bit forgotten..its not as rare or exciting, so as a result it's less photographed and maybe less talked about? I feel like spider plants are like that! This little fella has grown from the tiniest baby into a fully fledged plant in a few short months and it's just so vibrant and happy! It's the opitamy of health! So green and radiant! I love the striking stripes and how it just seems to be getting bigger everyday! I bottom water it, like I do most of my plants I only water it probably every 2-3 weeks, when it was warmer it was more but I'm one of those people who just wander around, see what's droopy or poke my finger into everythings soil and feel if things need watering, rather than following a routine I also fertilise things around every 2 or 3 cycles of watering, I just add a few drops of baby bio into the water and plonk whichever plant is having a drink, straight in Somtimes I leave them an hour or two, somtimes overnight..depending on how many I need to get through What's your favourite underrated plant? . #underratedplants #spiderplants #healthyplants #stripeyplants #wateringplants #bottomwatering #plantsformentalhealth #crazyplantpeople #plantlife
