A productive day after all. I've had this gorgeous rose cut labradorite stone floating about in my studio for a while - afraid the photo doesn't do the stone justice. Today was the day I finally set it in sterling silver, with a pierced back plate depicting a silhouette of my much missed fluff-ball. I feel I've been really good at keeping track of names associated with pieces considering how many I do in a week. Moose was a golden doodle who was dearly loved by his family. Moose suffered from severe anxiety, and upon extensive testing he was also diagnosed with a neurologic condition that worsened over time. Despite trying every possible thing for Moose, medications eventually stopped working and his conditioned worsened. His family let him go after two and half years in their lives, but they say it felt like a lifetime with him. I love how the base turned out on Gromet's statue. If you look at it from the right angle, it almost looks like the moon's surface. Accidentally I must not have mixed the pigment quite fully in the resin and little unmixed bits settled on the surface of the base and it gave such a lovely effect. Resin is amazing. Jasmine's family found her as a stray outside their home about four years ago. They tried to find her owners but after exhausting this option, they suspected she was abandoned. They were unable to take her in at first due to other cats living in the house but when these cats moved out with their person, Jasmine became their house cat.
