And this brings us to (almost) current. About 6 months ago friends were visiting from out of town and asked me about the tile work. It started making me want to try again and I realized that I had never done a stone for my calico cat who had died. So I thought what the heck, let me see if it's still inside of me to want to do this. I decided to do several pieces and start exploring techniques and expand my possibilities and see what I could really do with this. One of the first things I wanted to do is to find a completely universal mesh or mat that I could mortar tile or glass or anything to, grout it, and have a finished product. Then I could choose what substrate to attach that to. So I could completely finish projects, send them off, and let other people self install to anything, whether that is inside or outside, floor, wall, or ceiling. And this is where I started having a paradigm shift...
