Мені просто по фану там сидіти, а зверху всі суєтяться та бігають. Яка ідеальна нора-схованка для мене? Кажу як експерт: 🐾шафа! Це святе місце, особливо на речах моїх людей. Мінуси, так, бувало мене там закривали випадково але воно того вартує 😇😼 🐾корзина! То взагалі треба видавати кожному коту! 🐾копанка під ковдрою. Я люблю залазити під великі, теплі ковдри, бо то як суцільна грілка. І не страшно, що тебе викраде ворона через вікно! Мінуси - нічим дихати 😬 🐾гардеробна, на полиці. We never imagined these would be our last snuggles with you. Gus had a most exciting time on his adventure this afternoon. I was worried it would be boring because I waited until later in the day. We were not disappointed. Plus, last night, during his Batman shift on the balcony, he had his radar senses targeted on something out there in the dark. He and Ollie have been busy mousing in the kitchen and living room at night. PS - if photos are not sharp, I truly can't tell if things are in focus when I wear these new reading glasses. It's weird because I can see words better. 🤔 Gorgeous day for me and Gus though. A nice 50°F.

I think Gus had a good time outside because he sure didn't want to go home. He didn't even care if I was around. He went into the thicket of the woods on one of his favorite logs where I can't get. He sat there doing his #forestbathing so I went back to the chipmunks. #ohgus

Riker and I decided to go outside for our mental health on my lunch today. We can tell he’s feeling Digby’s loss, his normal kitty routine is just noticeably off. I think we both benefited from feeling the sun on our face, the cool breeze, and from a little walk around the property - he even chose to go explore the front drive & yard, which he’s never done before. He is definitely helping heal our hearts, and I hope we, in turn, are helping to heal his. There's been a lot of anxiety and stress here (more later). Ollie jumped in his buggy while I was getting my boots on. He eventually got frustrated with Gus' decisions like going into the woods where Ollie and I could not go. So, Ollie asked to go home but he had a decent amount of time. We also watched birds collide and a feather swirl to the ground. Gus had was not listening to my "suggestions" today. However, he did something he's never done before--one of the neighbor men was walking up the driveway and fully expected Gus to run giving a wide berth. Instead, Gus pranced to him the way does to his own humans! It's only taken 8 years for Gus to be friendly to someone not in the family! Then he wanted to stay and watch the young men work. I told them it's something he's always loved doing. They never noticed. But a lot of Gus' supervision has been done from the balcony. I had to carry him home for lunch. If you can, get fresh air. Clear your head.

We had to go back to the vet this afternoon to get the blanket we’d brought Digby in with, as well as to finalize things with his remains. We called ahead and asked if we could bring Riker in to see him, so he could also get some closure. The last he knew Digby was sick & rushed out of the house, and then we came back without him. I know it helped all of us after the trauma of last night, to see him actually looking at peace, like he’d just fallen asleep on the couch. And because they don’t use scented products, he also smelled of himself so Riker wasn’t alarmed, he sniffed at him and nosed in his ear, then loafed beside him for a few seconds before being distracted by noises in the clinic. Going back today provided all of us with a much more peaceful mental image of our sweet tender-hearted big boy. We’re eternally thankful to @VCA Newmarket for facilitating our request and letting us into & out of a private room without having to go through the clinic with Riker. As well as for lovingly & respectfully handling our big boy once he passed (they took the time to pose him so sweetly, and they had no way of knowing we’d ever see him again). Digby took a shockingly quick and severe turn for the worst tonight. I woke Mike to tell him I thought we should take him back to emerge because I was concerned his fever had come back, and in the 5 mins it took to ready ourselves to go, he had what I can only describe as a neurological event that he did not come out of. To say we are devastated seems like the understatement of a lifetime. We’re at the emergency vet with Digby … he had a second asthma attack in the afternoon. He just wasn’t himself going into the evening, and we thought it might be side effects from the rescue puffer, but then he stared to become lethargic and was refusing even licky tube treats, so it’s off to the vet we went. They’ve checked his vitals and the only concern they have at this point is an elevated temperature, and the lethargy (which is likely because of the temperature). So it might be a recurrence of the respiratory infection he had … but we shall see. Waiting on the doctor’s assessment. Hot damn! Getting down at ground level sure shows Gus like a #Chonk! Extra #ChonkyCat which his vet is not pleased about. He wants Gus back in svelte T'Challa shape. 😳 Anyway, the hardworking detective spent a lot of time at various guard posts on the lookout for that trespassing cat. Digby had his first asthma attack since having the respiratory infection just before we moved. I’m not exaggerating when I say my inner anxiety spiked when I heard the coughing, wheezing and then the associated congestion - my brain went immediately into panic mode calling up just how poorly Digby got a few weeks ago when he had the respiratory infection. I had to stop and take a breath after giving him his puffer and remind myself this is just the asthma, and that he’ll be fine once the rescue puffer does its work. It took 2 puffs, then distracting him with food to snap him out of his own breathing anxiety. The congestion took a bit to clear, but I got him purring with some brushing to help promote it clearing out and it helped a great deal. Gus and I tried to enjoy our adventure. Per previous post, it wasn't great. Gus gets an A+ anyway. We were walking along and came across the free-roaming black & white cat who has taken over much of the land that Gus used to believe was his. However this cat freely comes into our yard which Gus and Ollie see through the windows and then they want to attack someone so they go after each other badly. Today I was shocked when the stranger saw me, turned and hauled ass away down the trail. Gus didn't even look. He sniffed the markings left on the bushes but didn't even consider running after it. Slide 3 - This is the #squirrel that will be playing Mr. Sinister in The Sinister Six. Slide 4 - cowbirds. Those pictures were actually shot from inside through the screen.
