L: Boah, Leute! Wehe, Ihr lacht! 😾 Ich musste diesen blöden Clownskragen tragen. Dabei konnte ich gar nix dafür! Nur weil die Rabenmutta nicht geschnallt hat, dass ich vom Durchfall verstopfte Analdrüsen hatte. Ich musste mir die Wunde am Schwanz selbst zufügen, damit sie endlich kapiert, dass ich da dolle Schmerzen hatte... an meinem Luxuspo. Eigentlich hätte sie das Teil aufsetzen müssen. Die heißen ja nicht umsonst cone of shame. Und wenn sich hier einer schämen muss, dann ja wohl sie! K: Kannst Du mal aufhören bitte? Ich mach mir eh schon Vorwürfe, dass ich das erst nach 2 Tagen bemerkt hab 😕 Aber immerhin haben wir dann sofort für Sonntag früh nen Tierarzt-Termin gemacht und die Drüsen ausdrücken lassen. L: Und wie war das wohl für mich? Verdammt schmerzhaft! K: Ja, aber wie war es danach? L: Besser. K: Na, siehste. Und seit dem leckst Du da auch nicht mehr so rum und die Wunde kann endlich heilen. L: Und trotzdem verfolgst Du mich ständig und glotzt mir in meine Intimsphäre. K: Ich pass nur auf, dass Du es nicht wieder aufleckst beim Putzen. Die Alternative wäre weiter Donut tragen. L: Hm, ok... dann stalke mich gern weiter 😺 K: So machen wir das. Bald haben wir das auch geschafft. Reicht auch langsam mit all den Katzen-Krankheiten, ne? L: Ja, voll. P: Lieber Gott, so sehr ich mir wünsche, dass mein Bruder bald wieder fit wie ein Turnschuh ist, so nett fände ich es auch, wenn nicht seine ersten Schritte im wieder aufgenommenen Fitnesstraining seine geliebten "Jagden" auf mich wären. Kannst Du das einrichten evtl? Gestern hat er mich ins Schlafzimmer gescheucht und auch als ich ihn angebrüllt habe (ich hau ja nie zurück), fand er das noch lustig und dann sind wir im Galopp den ganzen Flur runter bis auf den Balkon gedüst. Da hat dann endlich die Mutta eingegriffen. Versteh gar nicht, dass sie ihn so betüdelt, offenbar ist er ja ganz fit, wenn er will 😏 K: Ponchi, er ist zwar körperlich wieder besser drauf, weil er jetzt kaum noch Kortison bekommt, aber er hat ja immernoch die blöde Wunde, die heilen muss, darum hab ich ständig ein Auge auf ihn. Sonst muss er wieder den Gruseldonut tragen. P: Ja, damit sah er lustig aus, mach das doch 🤭 K: Und dann meckerst Du wieder, weil ich ihn betüdel. Er kann damit ja nicht trinken, ohne alles unter Wasser zu setzen, klemmt sich selbst am Deckenspanner ein, und man muss immer Angst haben, dass er sich verspringt, weil er Abstände damit nicht gut einschätzen kann. Und wenn er fällt, haben wir ne zweite Rückenverletzung. P: Ja, nee, das will ich ja auch nicht. Immerhin regnet es aktuell Leckerli. Das ist schon ein Vorteil. K: Gewöhn Dich nicht dran, das hört bald wieder auf, wenn wir hier kein Dauer-Lazarett mehr sind. P: Aber Katzen brauchen Liebe! Und Liebe geht durch den Magen! K: Na, ein Glück, dass wir all you can eat füttern und hier keiner verhungern muss. P: Ich meinte kein normales Futter 😣 Ich will "all Leckerli you can eat". K: Schon klar. This little lady is Tiny! Tiny is a 2-year-old kitty who presented to Dr. White on emergency after she had an asthma attack. Tiny has a history of asthma and is already on medications to help manage it. On physical exam, Dr. White found that Tiny's respiratory rate and effort were elevated. She recommended that Tiny spend some time in our oxygen chamber while receiving medications to calm her and open up her airway. Feline asthma is a common allergic respiratory disease in cats. It is chronically progressive and there is no cure. Common symptoms include: - Coughing - Wheezing - Labored breathing - Open mouth breathing - Blue gums After spending the night, Tiny's breathing improved. She was weaned from oxygen and was able to go home! Digby had his first asthma attack since having the respiratory infection just before we moved. I’m not exaggerating when I say my inner anxiety spiked when I heard the coughing, wheezing and then the associated congestion - my brain went immediately into panic mode calling up just how poorly Digby got a few weeks ago when he had the respiratory infection. I had to stop and take a breath after giving him his puffer and remind myself this is just the asthma, and that he’ll be fine once the rescue puffer does its work. It took 2 puffs, then distracting him with food to snap him out of his own breathing anxiety. The congestion took a bit to clear, but I got him purring with some brushing to help promote it clearing out and it helped a great deal. Chilling with THE WINDOWS OPEN fam! -Loki It's been a GORGEOUS Caturday at ours with fresh air and fresher vibes 😎 Sorry we were MIA these past days, I ended up at the emergency vets with a MEGA #megacolon flare up! It was bad y'all. We drove an hour and I was in rough shape the entire drive there, really NOT myself. Human was terrified and then we were both super strung out from the drive and the vet ordeal. I started over-grooming my fluffy butt to get the nasty vet smell outta there so we just needed a few QUIET days to relax. Human says she needs a break from sick panthers and vets and vet BILLS 💸😭 but she says as long as we're ok, it's worth it! I gotta say I agree with her 😮💨😼 How is everyone doing? P: Hallo, und ein frohes Wochenende für Euch alle, für die nicht eh jeder Tag Wochenende ist 🤭 Hier ist alles soweit in Ordnung. Leeno hat leider immernoch Rückenschmerzen, glaube ich. Er spielt weiterhin nicht mit Tari. Manchmal geht er mir zwar wieder auf den Keks und setzt mir nach (also das hätte er ruhig noch eine Weile pausieren können!), aber mit Tari toben geht wohl noch nicht. Wenn das so weiter läuft, brauchen wir bald eine Nummer 4 als Spielekumpel für den, der als Spielekumpel kam 😁 Aber nein, das halten meine Nerven nicht aus. Leeno muss einfach wieder gesund werden. So ist hier eine komische Stimmung, weil es so anders ist als sonst. Selbst wenn die Rabenmutta den Wasserhahn ganz doll aufdreht, was ja sonst Leenos Startschuss für wildes Gerenne ist, passiert... nichts. Gar nichts. Nächste Woche geht's nochmal zur Knochendoktorin für ihn, hoffentlich kommen wir der Sache dann mal auf die Spur. So, ich leg mich jetzt wieder auf den Balkon. We keep the house really picked up (no hair-ties!!!!!) but Ryah will find things to eat that you just couldn't imagine (like a tag attached to the couch underneath). Kingsley has been more active on this account lately, so I decided it's time to introduce him! I am also using this post to enter him into the @allthebestpetcare photo contest. Why should he be featured? Read on for Kingsley's story! -Kingsley was adopted from @kingcountypets in 2020. He spent a month at the shelter after being found as a stray. How this dude lived outside is beyond me. -He is a shy boy and it took months to fully integrate him into our house. This included a month long stint living in a closet. -He loves food more than anything, including human sink scraps 🙄 This makes training and medicine soooo easy. -Kingsley has feline asthma. It was scary at first but now I know his condition is treatable and manageable! -Kingsley still needs help coming out of his shell every now and then, but he trusts and loves me and my partner. We're always trying to build his confidence! -He is the biggest lap cat I've ever met!! -Kingsley is a sweet, gentle boy even though he can also be naughty. He has such beautiful eyes and the world deserves to see them on an @allthebestpetcare tote!!

Hi, my name is Piper, & I don’t feel good 🤒 My mom took me to the vet before one of us had an emotional meltdown & I’m so glad she did. 😅🫶🏻 I’m a little delirious with exhaustion, (human, not cat - she’s downstairs yelling at something… 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️) but that’s what happens when you spend your Saturday night at the emergency vet. Good news is… We are home, as mentioned before, exhausted, but sound. $600 later… Piper (allegedly) has asthma & definite inflammation in her lower lungs. They were worried about pneumonia, with the labored breathing, but her little heart is good & the X-rays were mostly clear. Thankfully no fever & her vitals are great. I am thankful that we have these 24/7 vet services in our area, but I hope to never have to use them again. However, I was fiscally unprepared for this sort of expense. What a helluva way to learn a lesson about money. 🙄 emergency funds. Everyone should have them. (Tonight’s takeaway…) Next, we will do a round of steroids & go from there. T: Moin. Leute, ich sag's Euch, mir ist so langweilig. Leeno ist zwar seit einer Woche wieder zu Hause, aber er spielt immernoch nicht mit mir, obwohl seine Keratitis am Auge wieder verheilt ist. Mag er mich vielleicht nicht mehr? 😿 K: Spatz, das hat nichts mit Dir zu tun, aber sein Rücken tut noch ganz schön weh. Wir mussten doch wegen dem Auge mit dem Kortison aufhören und haben erst frisch wieder angefangen jetzt. Bis das wirkt, dauert es ein bisschen, und ob das ausreicht, wissen wir auch noch nicht genau. Darum muss der Lausebär in zwei Wochen nochmal zur Orthopädin. T: Orthowas? K: Das ist eine Knochenärztin. Die schaut sich nochmal genau an, warum Leeno so komische Ödeme in den Nervenkanälen hat. Vielleicht braucht er sogar ein MRT. T: MRwas? K: Egal, das ist zu kompliziert. Wir versuchen jedenfalls, Dich auszulasten, aber dass Dir der aktive Leeno fehlt, verstehen wir und tut uns auch ganz doll leid. Mit uns spielen willst Du aber auch nicht so richtig, ne? T: Schon manchmal, aber Du kannst mit mir nicht die Möbel rauf und runter rennen und ich kann mich auch nicht gut mit Dir über den Boden kugeln. Aber wenigstens spielt der Poncha ein bisschen mit mir fangen. Das is schön. Wie machen das denn Katzen ohne Katzenfreunde? Die haben ja nie jemanden für Katzensachen. K: Das stimmt. Die sind dann n bisschen aufgeschmissen. Aber zum Glück spricht sich endlich immer mehr herum, dass Ihr zwar Einzeljäger, aber im Alltag eben keine Einzelgänger seid. Having a cat with asthma is not easy. The constant wonder when you’re not home if she is ok. Watching her breathe when she sleeps and counting how many breaths per minute. Tonight she came in a little before 3:50 and walked all over me meowing and I didn’t think anything of it. But after she laid down I heard the labored breathing. Up we go for our inhaler and mouth rinse (yes you need to rinse their mouth after or they can get thrush). Now we wait for it to kick in. Sometimes you have to stick your tongue out in the sunshine -Loki It's #WickedCatWednesday and I've picking up the slack now for Buddy too (see previous post) so I'm making mischief for two 😈😈 ❇️So I'm back in charge of the #CatsAgainstSleep initiative. I'd allowed Buddy to take it over but now my services are needed again. I've been waking up the Humans CONSTANTLY with chirps and purrs. I walk over them as needed and if it's an emergency, I start shredding it on our circuit toy LOUDLY 💥 That works like a charm ⏰🍗😈 ❇️I'm bullying Buddy lots. Apparently "I shouldn't" but I don't understand why he won't play with me anymore😿 so I try to harass him into it 🙈 ❇️I'm ambushing my Human more than ever. I hide then BAM! PAW SWIPES! CLAWS! Then I stalk her 👀 like I'm hearding her where I want her 😼 ❇️Naturally I'm still giving lots of bites and bunny kicks. Whew! To day we had quite a adventure. We drop by the vet because the asthma medications stopped working, but we have a new game plan now. BUT the best thing, we stopped by at @arkenzoosisjon to buy a new bed. After going around the store a hundred times and hiding behind everything that was possible we decided on a bed. Well it’s been a stressful night…Heidi had eight asthma attacks through the night and had to have a visit to the vets first thing. She’s absolutely fine in herself but obviously we were very concerned and managed to get her seen this morning. She’s had a very thorough check up and has been given a steroid injection to help get the attacks under control. Heidi made sure she let the vet know who is the boss by growling and hissing 🙈 always the diva! Like I said she’s absolutely fine in every other way, she bounces back from an asthma attack immediately and just gets on with whatever she was doing before it happened. Here are some pictures from her visit this morning, a photo of her back at home and also a reminder of how she receives her inhaler treatment and what an asthma attack looks and sounds like. K R A N K E N H A U S 🏥 P: Ihr habt das Drama ja durch die Stories die ganze letzte Woche mitbekommen. Leeno ist stationär in der Klinik, und hier zu Hause ist es ganz schön.... anders. Also natürlich fehlt mir nicht, dass er mich so oft ärgert, darauf kann ich verzichten 😬 Aber im Vergleich hab ich meinen Bruder doch lieber zu Hause als ganz weit weg. Wir sind zwar stark miteinander verbunden, und ich schicke ihm immer gute Wünsche, aber ich spüre auch, dass es ihm da nicht gut geht. Er ist toll versorgt und alle sind ganz lieb zu ihm, aber es ist eben nicht sein Zuhause. Darum frisst und trinkt er auch nicht selbstständig 🥺 Naja, ich möchte nicht zu viel vorweg nehmen, er wird sich bestimmt bald selbst nochmal melden. Aber drückt ihm gern all Eure Pfoten, damit sein Auge noch schneller verheilt und hier bald wieder der Alltag, so wie wir ihn kennen, einkehren kann. Das wäre mein Osterwunsch. Ewwo good hoomans! I have good news today! Felicity has been on her meds almost a week and she’s a sassy as ever. We’re still watching her like a hawk, but her asthma seems to have calmed down for now. As for Kali, her rodent ulcer is on the mend. I was watching her drink from our plastic cat fountain and noticed she was rubbing her mouth on the faucet.. right where her rodent ulcer was! So we tossed the fountain and ordered a stainless steel one and she’s now feeling less discomfort. S I L E N C E P: Mein Bruder ist krank. Die Zweibeins wollen uns nicht genau sagen, was er hat und wie schlimm es ist, damit wir uns keine Sorgen machen... Aber glauben die nicht, dass wir dann vielleicht erst Recht besorgt sind? Sind wir nämlich. Sehr doll sogar. Er war ziemlich viel im Folterinstitut in letzter Zeit (so nennt er die Klinik) und ist irgendwie auch anders drauf. Und er muss Tabletten nehmen. Mehrmals am Tag. Ich find das gut, da gibts immer Leckerli, aber ich weiß auch genau, dass die mit Füllung sind. Jedenfalls die Leckerli von Leeno. In ein paar Tagen wissen wir mehr, aber aktuell herrscht hier ziemlich bedrückte Stimmung, und Tari ist etwas nervig, weil Leeno nicht mehr mit ihm tobt und ihm deshalb oft ziemlich langweilig ist. Naja, aber so ist es eben grad und wir müssen es nehmen wie es kommt. Aber natürlich drücken wir meinem Lausebruder alle Daumen und Pfoten, dass vielleicht alles doch nicht so schlimm ist. Man braucht schließlich immer Hoffnung, oder? Denkt mal ein bisschen an uns bitte. Und verzeiht, dass es hier aktuell etwas (viel) ruhiger ist als sonst. Wir konzentrieren uns auf Leeno. Hello furriends!! Its been a really long month for me! But Im finally feeling better and can tell you all what happened! At the beginning of February, I had an acute right hindlimb (RHL) lameness. The next day, my third digit was really swollen, so I went to the ER. On x-rays, it was clear the distal phalanx (third bone) was completely lysed (gone). We also checked x-rays of the chest to ensure it wasnt lung-digit syndrome (essentially a big lung mass will spread to the toes in cats) - but thankfully those were clean!! Next up we had the entire 3rd digit amputated, and submitted it for histopathology to ensure it wasnt cancer. Good news: NO CANCEROUS CELLS were found!! The only thing they really found was inflammation, so we still dont know what caused this! I had to wear 2 cones once my bandage was off and I was freed from cage rest, because I could reach my toes and my neck is too small for a bigger cone! And now, Im continuing to heal but doing so much better!! And my toes look kind of like a kangaroo foot now!! How cute! Huge thanks to our amazing doctors that took such good care of me!
