Fueled my Wednesday with the always consistently yummy Hawaiian food at Chris’ @onogrindsislandgrill 🏝 🍽 I got my usual combo plate of the hulihuli chicken and teri steak with steamed rice and a macaroni salad as a side. Both meats are marinated in their special teriyaki sauce which makes for a tangy, sweet explosion, which partnered well with fluffy rice and in between bites of the macaroni salad 👍🏽 🍗 I also got their Waimea wings in their guava bbq sauce, and man! Another sweet/tangy taste party for sure 🥳 It was so much food that I don’t think I’ll need to eat dinner tonight. Or will I? Yesterday we celebrated Nadia’s 1st birthday and it couldn’t have gone better 🥰 I’m so grateful for my family and friends who joined us yesterday to celebrate my baby girl’s 1st year of life and even for the family and friends who couldn’t come but still made an effort by dropping off a gift early or by FaceTiming her to say happy birthday. For all my mom’s with soon to be 1 year olds (or whatever age honestly), and who do not feel comfortable with dyes and sugar filled frostings, this recipe is a must. It only uses coconut flour, maple syrup, eggs, baking soda and cinnamon and for the frosting it’s made out of full fat coconut milk, maple syrup and vanilla extract. They’re still open from 11:30am to 9pm for takeout and delivery through Uber Eats and Postmates. My favorite meats here are the kalbi ribs and char siu pork. They also have amazing spam musubi (whatever sauce they put on it is super good) and possibly the best macaroni salad I’ve had!
