We’ve been delivering fabulous weddings here for a long time….over 12 years in fact. We’ve loved every single one we’ve had the privilege of hosting, and we thought we’d come up with the idea of using Gorcott Hall as a fabulous venue for a wedding. Not so, it turns out. We’ve been sent these amazing photos, taken just after the outbreak of the Second World War, of Vivienne and Bill Jeffrey who enjoyed their wedding reception right here back in 1939, following a church wedding in Studley. The beautiful bride in the photo, Vivienne, was actually born here at Gorcott, in June 1914. Her father James Yeomans was the tenant here at the time. The horse, Daisy Bell, was a somewhat unusual, but no doubt very useful wedding gift; the happy couple lived and worked on the family farm in Exhall. Vivienne’s granddaughter, Maria, kindly sent us these photographs. She now owns the amazing @tillyrosebeautyboutique, and we’re looking forward to welcoming her back to her ancestral home in June, when she will be the makeup artist for a bride here. Small world!
