Our past few days in Cancun were incredible! It was such an honor to be able to travel to Cancun for our first ever International Wedding to photograph for Cassie & Dave! "Moonrise" The full moon in April is known as the pink moon, and in 2021, it was also called a supermoon, so named because the moon is closet to the earth at such times, which makes it appear bigger and brighter in the sky. As the pastel hues of the setting sun adorned the sky with a warm glow, I eagerly anticipated capturing this celestial dance. With my camera poised and ready, I awaited the moonrise, hoping to frame it against the sun-lit face of a majestic clock tower. I was able to capture several captivating images as the evening grew darker and the moon rose higher in the twilight sky. This one was a favorite. #NationalProposalDay is next week so I have to share Scott and Carly’s proposal from a couple weeks ago! These two have been together for quite some time and they had talked a bit about their future plans and marriage. Scott decided to do the proposal on top of the bridge at Coxhall Gardens. He lined the walkway with candles and had a few bouquets. The pink rose bouquet is special because every day that week he drove to Carly’s house and placed a pink rose on the windshield of her car with a sweet note. He completed the week by having the pink rose bouquet at the proposal along with her final note. He also had a sign present that said “its always been you”. It was the perfect set up! Carly’s friend Faith brought Carly to the park under the guise of them meeting her niece at the park and then going out to dinner. Carly had some suspicions that something was happening but was still surprised! Faith brought Carly up through the centerpiece steps and when Carly came through the opening, Scott was there to greet her. Afterwards, we did a few couple portraits to celebrate their engagement! It was a super sweet proposal and Carly and Scott are the sweetest! Today I am sharing my 5 tips on how to include your fur babies in your engagement photos so that it will run smoothly and be absolutely PAWFECT! 🐾 1. Make sure you tire that fur baby out some before your session! This could be going to a dog park, going for a long walk, or really active play time at home. This will ensure that your pup will be less likely to want to run around and explore and be less distracted when getting photos. 2. Make sure you feed them before their session! Just like babies no one wants to be hungry while taking photos! 3. Don’t forget the treats or any special toys that they love! Treats and toys are going to be key to get your pup to look at the camera and pay attention during your photo session. 4. Bring an additional person to your shoot with you. They can take them off and walk them or even take them home early if we have finished with them so that we can continue photographing your session. Since engagement sessions tend to be around 90 minutes pups usually are over it before our time is up so it’s nice to have someone else that can take them so they can enjoy being a pup! 5. Most importantly have fun and relax! Dogs can feel anxiousness and stress. So if you are stressed or worried about how they behave then they will feel it too which could result in them not cooperating! ✨Bonus Tip ✨ Think of key words your pups love! Soaking in all the easy Saturday vibes we can before our wedding season picks back up in a couple weeks! Last night, after hosting a bunch of 16 year old boys for pizza and games, I started reading a book and ended up not going to sleep until 3:30am! ☺️ Not very smart when I knew we needed to get up at 6:30 to hang out with a bunch of youth from our church up in Columbus! Luckily Matt drove so I could catch a few 💤 and it was the best time with such incredible kids! A lot of them will be back at our house again tonight for a movie and ice cream night! There’s nothing I love more than a house full of kids, but I might need to sneak away early to finish my book! 💕
