I'm not one who loves to post pics or videos of myself but I wanted to introduce myself to all the new people who have chosen to follow my pages. I am so thankful that you have taken the time to like and comment on my posts and for purchasing my handcrafted goods! I have been doing this work for about 14 years now after learning to sew in my 30s. I had always wanted to sew but never took the time to learn until then. And I fell in LOVE with it. I took over half of my children's playroom with my sewing stuff and came up with the idea of making custom bags for customers. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS DOING....but I knew that it was something that I loved and felt I had a future in. So every free minute I had, I was experimenting with new fabrics and materials and coming up with my own designs for bags. Some of them were horrible....but some were great. And I just kept teaching myself how to create one of a kind pieces. This was before you could get any tutorial type video online so I made ALOT of mistakes but again, I knew that I had something inside of me that I could work with. And here we are all these years later and I have added so many products to my line. I don't just make bags and I have sold to 45 states! And I'm determined to sell to all 50...! I am so thankful for all of those that have stood by me even with all my failures because they saw something in me as well. I feel like this year is going to be big for Kathryn Brooke Designs. I have SO MANY ideas in my head and have been creating like crazy. This is my motto for the New Year. I began this business while ago when I fell in love with CREATING. I have always been creative but when I began sewing in my 30's, it opened my eyes to a whole new world or creation. As I've built the business, I have continued creating but I have also lost some of that passion because I was trying to cater to the masses, trying to figure out what everyone else wanted, and forgot to listen to my creative instincts. 📌 SAVE THIS POST!📌 One of my favorite tools to use at the beginning of a new year (or when onboarding a new 1-on-1 client) is a life wheel. If you’re unfamiliar, here’s how it works: Look at each of these eight categories (I sometimes call them buckets) and rate them on a scale from 1 (oh no!) to 10 (shit’s amazing!). If you have a physical copy, you can color to the corresponding line as a way to visualize your current situation, but you can also just write each category on a piece of paper and rate it from 1-10! The point isn’t to rank them, per se - you may have some ties! The point is to help you focus on what is actually going to move the bar for you this year! There’s no one right way to use it; some people may decide to pour into their empty buckets, while others may choose to focus on turning their 8s into 10s! If you aren’t sure where to start or you know you thrive with accountability, DM me “accelerator” and let’s chat about how I can support you in making your 2024 dreams come true!🪄
