It looks like a hotmess NOW but has a few more layers of paint to go before closing it out. Intended to be an abstract figurative work on a small-medium canvas. One technique includes sanding it down once the paint has dried. #21daysinmyartworld Inspired by fellow artist @nicolecromwellart & beginning with "A Favorite Painting" Why? Many, many attempts, two different sized canvases & hours later I finally created work I could proudly provide to the client. This was a customized commission based off a single reference photo taken by the collector. Her husband dwarfed by a huge sequoia redwood tree. Because the customer knew the reference photo, leaving off the full details of the canopy & trunks allowed me to show the light passing through the canopy. Dripped a lot of paint from the top down-- building up some textural aspects to create the trees. I like the etheral effect of the sky changing intensity, left to right.
