Today's PA1 order is a wonderful vor mopf c217 S65 AMG, a unique example thanks to his paint. And while it may be today a rather conventional shade in the world of ig, this back when it was new, was quite a move. This example has been seen by local reader @joeywosylus in Munich, Germany. Starting with the exterior we have Deep green ( classicgrün 825 ), a common pick amongst pa1 orders that certainly needs no introduction. In these photos here we see how this non metallic paint really is a dark green, something that was a lot less the case in the last deep green car i've featured, an s213 from the East coast. Indeed while this Vor mopf c217 in deep green was a bold statement, a couple of years later it had become a lot more common, especially stateside at first. The rest of the exterior features not a single badge ( further proof of how this isn't the usual green ig build ) , S65 only elements throughout, including the wonderful 20 inch AMG multispoke chrome wheels and specific chromed grill. And yet indeed somehow no swarovski headlights. Moving to the inside we have the regular ordering guide designo AMG saddle brown/black leather interior. An expected choice with the outside then, although inside the rest stands out. Indeed we have here the very rare wooden steering wheel with the wonderful burr walnut glossy trim, truly the appropriate trim here. Other notable features include all the assistance options expect night vision, although we do have the rare and desirable 3D high end sound system. So what we have here ticks a lot of boxes, subtle, fashionable nowadays, yet a proper classic, a wonderful v12, and some of the mandatory tech, who needs anything more? This is also a beautiful example of a clean, untouched c217, something that's unfortunately getting rarer and rarer. Today’s pa1 order is very different from the CLS recently featured, indeed that c257 was unfortunately understood only by a few people in its uniqueness. Anyways, this particular pa1 order is a vor mopf w213 E63 S which certainly is a lot more noticeable, an example owned and submitted by local reader @CoopLevine. And it's featuring both a pa1 paint and interior as we would see. Starting with the exterior we have Orange Pearl metallic ( no paint code ), yes indeed this is the actual name of this paint, and no this isn't designo orange, indeed MBUSA refers to orange pearl metallic for this hue, and adds that there is no paint code or reference to another manufacturer like we have seen in the past. This bright deep orange shade truly is similar to mbs designo orange, but it appears to have a stronger red hue, and deepness. The rest of the exterior features the AMG night package, both carbon packages, multibeam leds, and 20 inch amg forged matte black cross spoke wheels. Moving to the inside we have a black nappa leather interior with matching contrasting stitching, indeed another pa1 option here to remind you of the outside, the orange stitching is applied all over the cabin, from the dash, passing by the door cards or the seats, although not on the steering wheel , as this would have been another option. The rest of the interior features performance seats, all the assistance options, cooled seats, the dinamica headliner, 3D high end burmester sound system, carbon fiber trim, and the black leather/dinamica steering wheel with the 12 hour mark. So what we have here really is a rather mysterious pa1 order, that really raises a question, how was this approved without any paint code? This also finally allowed us to find out more about this w213 since a photo appeared during its delivery. Today's PA1 order might just be one of the most obscure and subtle order yet. A rare sight, since this is one of the very few real pa1 CLS, and not just a regular ordering guide manufaktur one. Indeed this c257 CLS 400d features a pa1 upholstery and some amazing options as we would see, an example that was up for sale earlier this year at @auto.brinkmann in Greifswald, Germany. Starting with the exterior we have iridium silver ( iridiumsilber 775 ), one of mbs long standing silver hue that needs no introduction, having been seen on a large selection of mb models in the last decade. The res of the exterior keeps the simple yet elegant spirit of iridium silver, the AMG package is here complemented by multibeam headlights, 20 inch night pack multi spoke wheels, although without the night pack, and last but not least we have here the rare acoustic package which means clear glass! Moving to the inside it is where things get a lot more interesting, indeed at first glance this may appear like the macchiatobeige/titan red designo upholstery, although it isn't, indeed the person who ordered this c257 went pa1 to swap the titan red details for black ones. This obviously means no more striking titan red dash, but instead a much more subtle black one, but then why not picking regular nappa leather? Well like on the non AMG 213, the 257 offered a nappa leather dash only with designo leather, which means that if you wanted a leather dash there was not much to choose from, especially if you didn't want the showy designo combo, and this is where the pa1 offer comes in without that annoying nouveau riche vibe to it. As for the rest we have here both massaging and cooled seats up front, as well as heated rear seats, the desirable hud, burmester sound system and the tasteful glossy brown ash wood trim. Last but not least we can see the rare preparation for the accessory rear entertainment. So what we have here really sums up what I like, someone that really went for what they wanted, paired here with air body control and the remote heater, in proper German fashion. I have such a soft spot for first gen MLs. I remember when this thing came out: the year is 1997. Not long into The lost world: Jurassic Park, a pair of Mercedes SUVs make an appearance on screen. It looked so fresh and modern. Yes I’m that old, shut up. And man, it was a fantastic promotional operation 🦖🦖🦖🦖 I also want one because they have good off-road skills: separate body-on-frame + permanent 4-wheel drive with its proper two-speed Borg-Warner transfer case (low range!) and three diffs. I eventually bought a (mega) rare spec and condition: rust free ’01 ML 270 CDI finished in Designo Copper metallic over a two-tone Charcoal/ Cognac Nappa leather. Ordered new in Amsterdam, factory features includes: AMG styling packet with revised bumpers, integrated fog lamps, big fender flares (like the ’96 AAVision concept), side skirts, 17-inch Evo 2 wheels and AMG chrome exhaust tip, (fake) carbon interior, electric sunroof, rain sensor… US-specs OEM xenon headlamps are the cherry on top! I drove 1.987 km from Warsaw to go back home, it was a bit agricultural smooth but surprisingly frugal, a first class motorway cruiser. Between 1999 and 2002 the M-Class was also built built by Magna Steyr (ex Steyr Puch) in Graz, Austria, alongside G-Wagon and 4Matic E-Class, only for European market. Tonight’s pa1 order is the first ever pa1 r232 SL, one coming from the center of excellence in Sindelflingen, Germany, and seen here by local reader @jona_david63. Featuring a pa1 upholstery, as for all pa1 mb’s produced in the Bremen production plant. Starting with the exterior we have hyper blue ( hyperblau 888 ), the r232’s launch shade is certainly an eye catcher, depending on the lighting hyper blue really shifts from a very bright blue with a turquoise hue, to a deeper shade such as here. Hyper blue is a modern mb shade launched on the r232, and that has now also joined the cla’s offer. Mb’s paint code for hyper blue is also rather interesting, indeed 888 has already been used in the past for teal blue/beryl metallic, a 90’s mb shade with a much stronger green hue. The rest of the exterior then features the AMG night package 2 with the a entirely blacked out grill, as well as 21 inch 10 double smoke matte black AMG wheels, tinted lights all round, yellow AMG brake callipers, and a black soft top. Moving to the inside it is where things gets a little more interesting, the pa1 upholstery here is a mixture of black and what appears to be Yellowstone manufaktur leather. The manufktur leather can be recognised from the regular nappa leather with it’s diamond pattern, as well as here the unique contrasting stitching and leather elements in Yellowstone. Such as a large piping throughout the seats as well as two tone headrests, yellow seatbelts, and a 12 hour matching marking on the black nappa leather steering wheel with contrasting yellow stitching throughout. The rest of the cabin features the non performance seats, the burmester sound system, and what appears to be the AMG aluminium trim. So what we have here is the first of hopefully many pa1 r232's, although with no pa1 availability for the outside at the Bremen plant, this would probably remain a rare sight, especially when mb also now offers a wide range of regular ordering guide manufaktur upholsteries. Tonight’s pa1 order is one that long time readers may just remember, this unique late v222 S560 has been indeed featured quite a long time ago when it has been delivered back in 2020 at @mbnortholmsted. Featuring a pa1 paint and a v8, this non AMG example has been submitted by @thomas_i24, and is currently up for sale at @mercedesbenzofakron, in Akron, Ohio. Starting with the exterior we have olive green ( olivegrün 255 ), a popular modern mb shade that has been more than frequently seen on pa1 orders, as well as on the G wagon, and even the 222’s replacement, the 223 as a regular ordering guide manufktur option. On the 222 olive green was still a relatively uncommon pick as a pa1 order, mostly dude to the fact that the green obsession of many didn’t start yet. the rest of the exterior features no AMG package thankfully, multibeam LED’s, 19 inch twin 5 spoke wheels and the panoramic roof. Moving to the inside we have a more traditional approach, with the silk beige/espresso brown nappa leather interior. Nothing too special but a solid choice, that certainly matches the S class elegance a lot more than what ig often requires. The rest of the cabin features a proper burr walnut wood trim, both on the dashboard, center console, and steering wheel. Other features include the hud, and as per usual with most USDM 222’s, no 3D burmester. This is then a very American 222, that stands out with a pa1 paint, but after all isn’t that all the point of pa1 orders? This particular 222 also shows wonderfully how a wood trim truly says a lot on who ordered a car. So maybe this would be a late Christmas present, a unique v8 222 is after all, properly hard to beat. As a celebration of hitting 1,000 followers here’s an exceptionally special G that was recently shot by my friend @schsson. This 2016 G550 is finished in Designo Slate Blue Varicolor, a stunning and seemingly super rare paint color that I struggled to find out much info about. It seems to have only been available in 2016 and 2017 and was the only Varicolor paint offered on the G, and it looks like the color traces back to the R129 and original CLK. It’s absolutely stunning, especially when paired with a PCH sunset. I’m gonna be honest with y’all… I’m NOT feeling fly like a G6 anymore
Tonight’s pa1 order isn’t one, instead we have real life pictures of a new manufktur shade for the r232 SL, seen here by long time local reader @lucabe01 in Bremen, Germany, the birth place of the r232. Starting with the exterior we have the highlight of this SL 63, Ireland mid ( yes mid ) green Magno ( unknown paint code ). A new shade that might just sound familiar for long time readers, indeed Ireland green as a non Magno shade has already appeared on an mb product through the pa1 option code, that being a sls AMG ordered as one of the show car for mb USA’s pre designomanufaktur program, the signature program. Since then Ireland green has been forgotten, and that really isn’t a surprise, as let’s not forget that if today greens are so popular, it’s all thanks to ig. Anyways what about the mid part? Well it seems like indeed this is a lighter green, going more towards a military green than Ireland green. The rest of this s63 then features desirable ceramic brakes, the carbon fiber package, 21 inch 10 double spoke AMG wheels, the new AMG hood emblem instead of the mb one, no digital lights surprisingly as they are now throughout the 232 standard, and finally the rare grey soft top, which here rocks a strong beige vibe in the night, contrasting beautifully with the Ireland mid green hue and those ceramic brakes. Moving to the inside we have the manufaktur savannenbeige/black leather interior, a desirable upholstery that also happens to be a lovely reminder that the Bremen production plant technically allows pa1 upholsteries upon request ( as seen on multiple pa1 glc’s ), which also appears to be obviously the case on the r232. So what we have here is a lovely way to discover a new manufktur shades, one that joins orange flame metallic, launched a couple of months ago at Monterey car week. Last but not least we can only hope that one day the Bremen production plant would once more allow pa1 paints. Oh and on a side note, we have the mandatory kundencenter plate holder. Today’s pa1 build is a one of the very last USDM mopf w213 featuring a pa1 paint, this unique example has been submitted by a couple of readers, but on this one local reader @_timothy_eberle was the quickest. Anyways what we have here happens to be once more an E63 S, and it has delivered a couple of weeks ago to @raycatenafreehold in Freehold, New Jersey, where it is now for sale. Starting with the exterior we have voodoo blue ( 8T6 Toyota ), Toyota’s vibrant non metallic blue hue needs no introduction thanks to it’s popularity throughout the Porsche community, although we can notice voodoo blue shifts between lighting as we can see with the last photo. As far as mb’s are concerned we have seen in the US a couple of pa1 orders in this blue hue, from a AMG GTR pro, to a a217 S63 cabriolet. The rest of the exterior features highly desirable carbon ceramic brakes, the AMG night package, the panoramic roof, multibeam headlights, the AMG carbon fiber package 1, and 20 inch multispoke matte black forged AMG wheels. Moving to the inside we have the black/titanium grey exclusive nappa leather interior with yellow stitching and piping throughout. A regular ordering guide upholstery which for the last bunch of USDM 213 E63’s has been surprisingly popular. The rest of the interior features the burmester sound system, cooled seats, the AMG steering wheel in black leather/dinamica, and the carbon fiber trim on the dashboard and center console. So what we have here is rather interesting, a very sporty combination that definitely matches the mopf w213 E63 S beautifully, and that here might remind many of us of Porsche’s gt products. Tonight’s pa1 build is a highly unique mopf w213 e350, an example once more submitted by local reader @got_amg, and currently up for sale at @mercedesbenzofencino, in Encino, California. Featuring both a pa1 paint and upholstery this example stands out both with it’s powertrain and serious lack of options as we would see. Starting with the exterior we have allanite grey Magno ( 044 ), a modern largely forgotten mb shade here, offered mostly throughout the 2010’s it has been for instance one of the Magno shade available on the 217 and 222 S class. On the w213 it is very unique, with 2 USDM 213’s painted in this shade, this particular w213, and a rather mysterious vor mopf s213 E63 S. The rest of the exterior features the AMG package, 19 inch AMG multispoke wheels and the regular sunroof. And well that’s really it. Moving inside the empty but pa1 them continues with a impressive 2 tone classic red/black leather interior, the 2 tone treatment here is truly impressive with the seat bolstering in black leather with red stitching, red stitching is also applied on the black upper part of the dashboard and on the non AMG steering wheel. And as a fun fact the upholstery alone costed a whopping 15k! Other notable details include the black ash wood trim on the dashboard and center console, as well as no burmester or cooled seats. So what we have here is rather amusing, this is pretty much a USDM mopf w213 with nothing expect pa1 options, and I’d have to admit, that’s pretty cool. This is also a great showcase of how a 213 could have been ordered, mb truly offered impressive possibilities, that sadly often led to similar builds. I found the perfect R230 SL. This is a Tanzanite blue over Designo Mystic blue seats SL55 AMG with exclusive "11" original Parisian registration. The R230 might be a painful car to repair and maintain, but in my opinion the design has just aged the right way. Today marks the 11th anniversary of the l405 Range Rover, and if you know me you probably know why a reminder was in order. So here is a selection of l405’s from around Europe, facelift and pre facelift, all period, all very tasteful, used in different yet so similar places with different vibes ( just look at that man unloading his SVO l405 with a Barbour jacket in Knokke ). Oh and all of them are rocking clears, as they should. I’d say for once I don’t even need to explain much, but nevertheless can anyone guess the color of each of these l405’s, and what makes them so special? #designomanufaktur
Tonight’s pa1 order is a unique s211, while I haven’t featured a 211 for quite some time this particular example definitely makes up for it in terms of weirdness. Indeed this example has been submitted and seen by local reader @soupapes_spotting in Brittany, France. A RHD s211 featuring a diesel 270 powertrain and a pa1 paint as we would see. Starting with the exterior we have magmarot ( 586 ), magma red is an interesting non-metallic late 90’s/early 2000’s mb shade offered on multiple models throughout the range, including the 203 C class, or even the r129 and r230 SL. This bright red shade could be compared to other 90’s red shades such as BMW’s hellrot, although unlike hellrot it definitely wasn’t as common, with few pa1 orders in magma red such as a Swiss w220, and now this s211. The rest of the exterior features a trailer hitch, and more interestingly factory fitted LHD bi-xenon headlights, which probably means that this car never left much France although it has been ordered in the uk as a RHD vehicle. Moving to the inside we have black ammaretta leather, a safe bet for the cabin from the regular avantgarde 211 offering. The rest of the cabin we have sadly no photos, but we can report the automatic transmission, and sadly an unknown trim, although we can expect, hopefully, wood. What we have here then sounds more than interesting, a period pa1 shade, and an order sheet with a very specific use in mind, hence lhd headlights, and the 270 cdi powertrain. More interestingly having been ordered in the uk this s211 js even more unique, as for a couple of years mb in the uk discontinued the pa1 offering all together. While 223 pa1 builds are taking forever to be delivered, the last bunch of USDM pa1 213’s are meanwhile landing. Tonight’s build is a w213 E63 S currently up for sale at the guys at @mbmonterey, in Monterey, California. An example featuring a pa1 paint, and one more submitted by local reader @got_amg. Starting with the exterior we have Nardo grey ( Audi LY7C ), a surprising choice here in the sea of Arabian grey 213’s, indeed as this is just one of a handful of pa1 213’s in Nardo. Compared to it’s mb spiritual sibling and Porsche one ( kreide ), Nardo is lighter with a white hue, and obviously doesn’t share the historical pedigree of mb’s arabergrau, although it should be said everyone forgot that pedigree. Nevertheless Nardo grey is a shade I personally appreciate, while it remains often very tacky it sometimes also looks awesome on sporty, yet classical builds ( clear glass is the key, surprising? ), this is the case here with the night package, desirable multibeam’s, the panoramic roof, the carbon fiber package 2, and finally a personal favorite, desirable base 20 inch 5 double spoke AMG wheels. Moving to the inside we have the black/titanium grey exclusive nappa leather with yellow stitching and piping, a safe non pa1 sporty bet that matches the exterior beautifully to say the least. The rest of the interior continues the sporty theme, by featuring the black alcantara/carbon fiber AMG steering wheel, the carbon fiber trim and center console, and the burmester sound system with cooled seats. What we have here then shows how the w213 is able to swap suits easily, from a tacky overly showy sedan, to a elegant luxury sedans passing by a sporty, yet respectable sport sedan. While all over the web reviews of the w214 are popping up, here’s a unique v223 s580. An example recently delivered to the guys at @mb_of_easton in Columbus, Ohio. Featuring a very surprising pa1 paint and upholstery, it also rocks the desirable 580 powertrain, and quite a lot of options to say the least. Starting with the exterior we have chalk ( M9A kreide ), a rather interesting hue as the untrained eye would probably remember Arabian grey as the shade for this 223, not to be mistaken then. Interestingly mb themselves seems confused about chalk, as it is recognised as an Audi shade, even though it is obviously a Porsche one available on Audi’s only through the Audi exclusive program. As for chalk itself, this non-metallic shade is lighter than it’s mb spiritual sibling, with Arabian grey going towards a proper gray, chalk may appear nearer to a white shade. As for the rest of the exterior we have the AMG night package, digital headlights, 21 inch multispoke AMG night pack wheels, and the panoramic roof. Moving to the inside we have a pa1 upholstery that shouldn’t be once more mistaken with a regular ordering guide offer, indeed what we have here is a classic red upholstery, bringing strong pa1 213/222 vibes in this 223, classic red indeed shouldn’t be mistaken with the popular carmine red exclusive upholstery. The pa1 treatment here on this 223 features contrasting stitching throughout, including on the steering wheel, classic red leather piping on the AMG branded floor mats, as well as on the lower part of the dash, centre part of door panels. And obviously on the exclusive patterned seats. As for the rest of the cabin we have the highly desirable 4D burmester sound system, the piano black trim with flowing line, a non-AMG black leather/piano black steering, and the black dinamica headliner. So what we have here might be one of the wildest 223 yet stateside, rocking both a pa1 exterior and interior it certainly stands out in the see of regular ordering guide manufaktur builds. Tonight’s pa1 build is a unique mopf w213 E63 S, seen by local reader @supercarsingermany_ in Nürnberg, Germany. A rare sight to say the least with a pa1 paint, an insane amount of options, as we would see, and a w213 body instead of the more usual s213 on pa1 orders. Starting with the exterior we have amethyst metallic ( Porsche M4Z ), a Stuttgarter sourced quartz stone inspired shade, although from the other side of town, and one not to be confused with mb’s own 2000’s amethyst metallic, which was mainly available on the w203 C class with the paint code 994. Porsche’s amethyst is unlike mb’s one definitely more popular, and without that typical purple hue, with instead a reddish hue that became quite simply iconic. A deep shade to say the least then, that certainly matches the 213 body just as well as the 964 one. The rest of the exterior features multibeam headlights, ceramic brakes, the 360 camera, AMG night package, panoramic roof, 20 inch multi spoke forged matte black wheels, and the carbon fiber package 1. Moving to the inside we have a continuation of the loaded theme with the macchiato beige/black leather interior, a surprisingly rare pick on E63’s 213’s that definitely looks amazing, and quite frankly a lot more vibrant than the more common nut brown upholstery. Other notable details include the ultra rare 3D burmester high end sound system, naturally paging @luisalbus1 on this one, as well as the AMG performance steering wheel in black leather/dinamica, the dinamica black headliner, and the black ash wood trim on the dash and center console. Last but not least we can notice what appears to be pa1 black stitching and piping on the macchiato beige exclusive nappa leather. So what we have here is particularly unique, and even more regrettable tonight as the 213 sadly left the German configurator for good. Although deliveries are thankfully still coming through. With the s214 already launched, fewer and fewer s213’s are going to be featured, and truth to be told we sadly didn’t have all that many pa1 mopf 213’s due to the pandemic. Anyways this particular s213 is a mopf E63 S and it has been submitted by local reader @got_amg, an example up for sale until very recently in the DC area. Starting with the exterior we have deep green ( classicgrün 825 ), one of mb’s regular ordering guide manufaktur shade that has truly become hugely popular, that also means that it has been a fairly common sight on pa1 orders ( such as the 213 ). This non metallic hue obviously follows the even more popular green ig trend, which obviously lead to multiple 213’s ordered with it. Anyways the rest of the exterior features red steel callipers, multibeam’s up front, no night package, and popular silver 20 inch AMG forged cross spoked wheels. Moving to the inside we have a regular ordering guide upholstery, nut brown/black leather has been here chosen, another rather unsurprising pick, especially when you consider the exterior. Other notable details include the natural brown ash wood trim, both on the dash and center console, as well as the AMG performance steering wheel in black leather/dinamica, and the base cloth headliner. What we have here then is definitely a fans favorite, and you can see why. Especially when the s213 thankfully didn’t gain that ig hype, what’s left to say then? Bloody hell I’m gonna miss the s213. It seems like once a year a new pa1 g63 gets delivered stateside, this years example has been submitted by local reader @got_amg, and has been recently delivered to it’s owner. Featuring a pa1 paint, that as we would see is once more a bit more complicated than the average pa1 order. Starting with the exterior we have solarbeam yellow ( 278 ), as for last weeks w213 this examples rocks the hugely popular modern metallic mb yellow hue, which I’m genuinely not bothered to present again, as I did last week. Anyways more on this G63, while it may flex a pa1 option code on it’s window sticker, which refers to the paint, it’s actually a bit more tricky, unlike a regular pa1 order from Sindelflingen, the production plant of the Geländewagen does not allow pa1 paints, therefore this is the work of the AMG performance studio in Affalterbach. Indeed this particular g63, as for the pink example featured last summer left it’s production plant and was shipped to AMG to be entirely repainted, yup this car technically left the factory in polar white. What about the rest then? Well noticeable details include the AMG night package, 22 inch AMG forged cross spoked wheels in matte black, and desirable silver calipers. Obviously being a US spec this example also rocks the bullbar up front. Moving to the inside we have the G manufaktur leather package, here in black leather with contrasting gold stitching. The rest of the cabin features leather grab handles, the carbon fiber trim and the AMG performance steering wheel in black dinamica/carbon fiber. All in all I’m glad to see another Geländewagen getting a unique shade, as truth to be told it truly seems like every single g63 order rocks a G manuafktur, which let’s be honest kind of gets, well, boring. Here is a very unique mopf w213 E63 S, submitted and seen by local reader @joeywosylus in Munich, Germany. This example features a pa1 paint, and as we would see a very interesting story, that includes a matching w212, one that I’m finally able to feature, as frankly it was haunting me for years. Starting with the exterior we have solarbeam yellow ( 278 ), by far one of mb’s modern yellow hue that has been the most popular, introduced with the black series lineup of the early 2010’s, it made it’s way all the way to the GTR, including the pro, and roadster. More recently it has been seen on a handful of pa1 orders, including a couple of c190 AMG GT black series’s. The rest of the exterior features no multibeam led’s, probably due to shortage issues back in 2021, one could also notice red steel calipers, no night package but tinted rear windows ( bloody hell ), the 360 cam, and finally base 20 inch 5 double spoke AMG wheels. Moving to the inside we have a nut brown/black leather interior, part of the regular this cabin rocks no performance seats, but instead a tasteful black nappa leather steering wheel, and the burr walnut wood trim all round, all you need on an E-class truth to be told. So what we have here is a delight, seeing someone upgrading their w212 to a just as unique w213 is one of the biggest vibe one could have, an elderly couple that definitely likes standing out, hardly gets more German than that. What really improves it is that this isn’t of a hose ig pa1 builds, this is the opposite, while they surely don’t fly under the radar this couple ordered this shade twice because they love it, and I’m all going for it. As for the engine choice, frankly the power of the v8 was the only excuse, as this thing like their w212 would probably be travelling all around Germany. On a side note I’m hoping to see the mb emblem coming back like on their w212. Here is another unique a238 E53 AMG cabriolet, like the previously featured example this is a mopf with a pa1 upholstery. This particular example has been submitted by local reader @jcassioppi, and has been delivered recently at @mercedesbenzbatonrouge in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Starting with the exterior we have obsidian black ( 197 ), mb’s optional metallic paint requires no introduction, while it may not be as interesting as mb’s uni schwarz, which is unchanged for decades, obsidian still offers a metallic hue, that since the late 80’s have been hugely popular. As pointed out in a previous pa1 a238 featured, this example does not have a pa1 paint, and cannot have one as mb doesn’t allow it for Bremen produced models. The rest of the exterior features optional multibeam headlights, as well as night package AMG 20 inch wheels multispoke wheels. Moving to the inside we have a unique sand/black leather interior, the two tone treatment here is rather traditional, with the seats, center console, and door panels ins sand leather, all of that completed with contrasting stitching all round. The rest of the cabin features heated, cooled, and massaging seats, a proper flex, as well as the burmester sound system, AMG steering wheel in black leather, and the natural grain ash wood trim. So what we have here is what I like about pa1 orders, this example is subtle, and rocks a pa1 interior that doesn’t scream at everyone, all in all it is a joy to see these lesser known pa1 comptable models, hopefully more of them would appear before the 238 goes out of production.
