The @paulmcbethfoundation is putting in the very first disc golf course in New York City, and you and I can help get this project started! The @powerdga is hosting a Disc-A-Thon called the Power 4 Hour. During this event, I (along with other members from the academy) will complete as many holes of disc golf as I can in the span of four consecutive hours. 🥏TOURNAMENT RECAP🥏 • Yesterday I played in two flex start events in Lebanon. One at South Hills and one at Coleman Memorial Park. South Hills started out great but had a bit of a rocky finish. Still managed a -1 score and another 900+ rated round on the year. Coleman was a different story, it beat me up. 😭 I finished at a +8. Overall, it was a great day. I got to play two of my favorite courses with two great card mates, @ali_y2401 and @snappy10521. Also, my 909 rated round at South Hills was my fourth 900+ rated round this year in just my fifth event. I had four 900+ rated rounds in 17 rounds in 2023. Time for another @pdga ratings update! I’ve definitely been playing some of my best golf recently and it’s paying off with a 6 point boost to my rating! In the past month I’ve shot two 940+ rated rounds. Off-season form work and putting a big focus on a better mental game is definitely the reasons why I can be playing as well as I am. I now sit at a 879 rating which is the highest I’ve ever been rated and I’m excited to continue to try and improve on that number. As of now, I have three events planned for the next month. I finished my first A-Tier and three round event this weekend at the White Rose Open. Finishing the event with a +6 at Hickory Heights. I finished +17 in the tournament and landed in the middle of the pack in MA2, T-35th out of 67. I’m very pleased with my 893 rated event considering I was playing all three courses blind, and the wind was relentless. But I had a great time playing new courses and challenging myself with the bigger event. I feel like I played to my strengths well and maintained a good composure throughout the weekend. Played the first two rounds of the White Rose Open today! I had little-to-no expectations going into this event because I have never played any of the courses, then with wind blowing up to 30-40MPH today, you really could not take yourself too seriously. 😂 Round one was at Codorus State Park Red Course. Not a great start, but again the wind blowing off the lake was brutal. I shot +9, a 854 rated round, and I was sitting at 58th in a division of 67. But a much better second round at Codorus Township Park got me back into the event. I shot +2, a 941 rated round, and I jumped 31 spots to a tie for 27th. Tomorrow at 10am I’ll tee off at Hickory Heights for my third and final round of the event. Wind should be down and I’m looking for a strong finish to my first A-Tier event! 🥏Tournament Recap🥏 • Second event of the weekend was a fun one! Got a chance to meet and play with so many great people. I started out shooting -5 in round one, a 947-rated round and my new highest rated round! That would earn me a three stroke lead heading into the second round. That round started out more the same, but on the back 10 holes (15-5), I started to get a little shaky and missed too many shots. Couple that with a fire round from one of my competitors and I lost my lead and would finish in a tie for second. Though my finish was disappointing, it was still a great event, 915-rated. And again, getting to hangout with some great people during and after rounds was a real blessing. 🥏TOURNAMENT RECAP🥏 • Sellersville upshot was a great turnaround after two weeks fiasco at Ship Rock. I started on hole 14 in the first round, and after getting off to a slow start (+4 thru 7) I hit a 45-50ft putt for birdie on hole 2 to get everything back on track. I would end up shooting +1 on the 31 holes after the +4 start. That would put me at a +5 at the end of the day and earned me a tie for 4th place in the MA2 division! Really happy with my performance and everything felt great! Drives, approaches, putts, all great! I nearly threw one on hole 4, round 1, from 130ft approximately. Made several clutch putts, even with water/OB lurking in the background. Both of my rounds ended up being just one stroke shy of a 900-rated round. 🥏TOURNAMENT RECAP🥏 • Unfortunately yesterday did not go the way I would’ve hoped. After a first round that lasted four hours, I was soaking wet and very cold. The rain was relentless and I couldn’t grip a disc and get any sort of consistency. So to keep myself from being outside, cold and wet, and risking getting sick, I dropped out of the second round. It’s not something that I wanted to do and I hope I never have to do again. But for the sake of my own health, I think I made the right decision. My first tournament of the 2024 season has come to a close. I shot -2 in the @treemagnets Geibel Classic, finishing T-15th in a field of 33 MA2 competitors. Second round I started out 3 behind 1st place and didn't wanna just go out there over do it. So I just went out there and once again play my game and about worry about anyone else's. After the round I felt that it was the best round of golf i have played. All aspects of my game was on point. I shot 4 shots better than the previous round and took the top spot on the podium. Shot my highest rated round so far (966) It really felt good (I'm still riding the high from it) Last but not least this was my 4th win of the year. And for someone that lost his eye to cancer. Just goes to show not to give up on anything just because you have obstacles no matter what they are. I mean I'm a guy that struggles with depth perception and successing at a game of distances. Had a quick stop at my old home course whole heading home at woodmansee. Played the 9 holes through and didn't do to shabby. The course is coming along so well and as always its a blast to play. I was in a rush to finish a long drive so this was a great break from driving. Didn't even lose a disc like usual. Had a blast chucking 18 holes out at Oregon State Hopsital 9 hole disc golf course with @discraptor and @hashislove This small 9 hole has some tricky shots that surprise you with sneaky branches and tennis courts. The design of this course was thoroughly planned out as these holes are not as easy as you'd expect for such a small course. Get some practice rounds in at this course asap!! @hashislove had some clean lines for the birdie and a couple long putts looking real nice.
