FOUR FOR FRIDAY chapter seventy four. As I said last week, I did these out of order as I was waiting for one of these records to show up from the UK. Sure itās a bit ironic that Iād have to buy a record on Dionysus, a label as Californian as beaches, sunshine and earthquakes) from England, by thatās the way it goes sometimes. Doing this weekly has certainly forced me to fill in a few holes in thee olde collection, and after 24 years of never finding the last Cecilia Et Ses Ennuis EP I needed in the wild, I bit the bullet, paid the outrageous postage (that has me as baffled as gas prices lately) from overseas but in this case it was totally worth it. So yes, here are the last two Cecilia Et Ses Enuis EPās: On Mā Appelle Pussycat on my boy Lee Josephās Dionysus label from 2000, and Avec Les GarƧons on my boy Johnny Bartlettās Hillsdale Records from 2001. Both labels have put out so much great stuff over the years, but these are two of my very faves. Then we have the only 45 I have from the brilliant and much missed Celebrity Skin. The Hello b/w Rat Fink 45 came out on 3 different colors via Triple X Records in 1991, but curiously none had a picture sleeve - odd because if any band was ever a visual act, it was these glamorous L.A. goons! Last this week is the Chain Gangās Kill For You double 7ā released on Matador, also in 1991. No I donāt have any of their records from 1977/78 for the same reason that I donāt own a yacht. For now, this will do nicely. A banger find at @trafficrecordstore! I sold my original copy years ago and regretted it. It wasnāt an easy one to replace. I first learned about @thereal45grave on New Wave Theater. (Look up that show, itās incredible) I liked them. They were also immortalized in Return of the Living Dead with a beefed up version of PartyTime. The family tree for this band is insane! Bass player Rob Graves was part of The Bags, The Gun Club and Thelonious Monster. Don Bolles was part of The Germs, Nervous Gender and Celebrity Skin. Paul Roessler was with The Screamers, Nervous Gender, Mike Watt and the Secondmen, Geza X and the Mommymen and Nina Hagen. Other people that played in 45 Grave ā¦ Pat Smear, Rikk Agnew, Frank Agnew, Lisa Pifer and the list goes on. Dianah Cancer is the only original member in todayās lineup. This band was a pioneer of the ādeath rockā scene.
