We passed several entrances of the tungsten mines, once exploited in the parishes of Souto Maior and São Lourenço de Ribapinhão, through the ruins of the compressores house ofvthe mining complex. The Couto Mineiro do Vale das Gatas is also a desactivated mining industry complex. Because of the heat, we did a short walk (7km) last Sunday, around the dam close to Alijo (Vila Chã) The church in Vila Chã has a beautiful painted wooden ceiling. And this small village has an old covered grave, next to the washing place.
