不器用なようで器用なやつ😁 Ictinogomphus ferox (Common Tigertail, Gomphidae) – male Date: 23rd October, 2022 Location: Dzalanyama Forest Reserve, Lilongwe District Area, Malawi アフリカ大陸のサハラ砂漠以南の地域に、高温多湿な地域を除き、広域的に分布している、サナエトンボ科のトンボです。体長が72−95mm程度、開張（翅を開いた時の長さ）が91-101mm程度と、中型のトンボが多いサナエトンボ科の中にあって大柄な体躯を持っています。 同じサナエトンボ科でも昨日までのGomphidia属とは異なり、腹部先端の鉤爪は大きく発達しないようです。 それ以上にこのトンボが異なっているのは、ひたすら飛び回っていて、休む姿を滅多に見せてくれないことです。そのせいだろうか、身体を枯れ枝に預けたような不器用な姿で止まっています。それでバランスが取れているのだから、不器用に見えて実は器用なのかもしれない😁 と、写真を見ていて気がついたのですが（写真が今ひとつ不鮮明でわかりにくいのですが）、中脚と後脚は枯れ枝の上に乗せていますが、前脚は折りたたんで頭部と胸部の隙間に収めているんです😳 これは、どうやらこのトンボに特徴的な習性のようです。常に飛び回っているし、滅多に使わないので、前脚はむしろ邪魔になるんでしょう。 蝶でもセセリチョウは同じような習性を持っていますし、タテハチョウは既に前脚が退化してしまっています。このトンボもそのうち４本脚になってしまうのかもしれません🤣 さて今日は趣向を変えて「Bryan Adams」です。2005年のリスボンでのライブの模様を収録したアルバム「Bryan Adams Live In Lisbon」に収録されている「Back To You」を聴いてみたいと思います。この曲はリスボンのライブでの演奏が、最もスピード感があって元気に満ち溢れていて、私は好きなのです😊 「I've been down - I've been beat」 「I've been so tired that I could not speak」 「I've been so lost that I could not see」 「I wanted things that were out of reach」 「Then I found you」 「And you helped me through」 「And ya showed me what to do」 「And that's why I'm comin' back to you...」 今日の午前中は山に行ってきました 先週見つけた 見事な花を咲かせているキンランとの再会を楽しみにしていたのですが。。。 掘り取られた穴だけが残されていました なんでそんなことをするんだろう。残念です😢 お疲れさまでした🌟 身体を壊しませんように、気をつけて🙏 明日も、お互い、一緒に、頑張りましょう😊 #malawi #biodiversity #ictinogomphus #ictinogomphus_ferox #ictinogomphusferox #common_tigertail #tigertail #gomphidae #asi_es_macro #focus_macro #macrophotos🌷 #dragonfliesofinstagram #nature_spotlight #total_insects #total_dragonflies #ip_nature #ip_insects #ig_drgonflies #beautiful_insects_japan #passion_in_macro #flowerofsoul9 #onceupon_a_macro #exquisitepics20_macro #best_macrohub #nature_spotlight #rebel_macro #マラウイ

ひんやり〜😁 Paragomphus genei (Common Hooktail, Gomphidae) – male Date: 30th October, 2022 Location: Dzalanyama Forest Reserve, Lilongwe District Area, Malawi 一昨日、昨日に引き続きParagomphus geneiのオスの登場です。昨日の個体と同じ場所で同じsituationで撮影していますが、昨日までの個体からは一年後に撮影した異なった個体です。 アフリカ大陸のほぼ全域及びイベリア半島南部に分布している、体長が40-50mm程度、開張（翅を開いた時の長さ）が、オスで53-62mm程度、メスで49-56mm程度の中型のトンボです。 尻尾（腹部）を持ち上げて日射を避けるだけじゃ体温の上昇を防ぐのには足りなかったみたいです。Paragomphus geneiは身体の構造上、急な角度で尻尾を持ち上げるのが難しいみたいですし😅 その点、この個体は賢かった！ 身体を湿った砂に押し当てて冷やし出したんです（私にはそう見えた） 「ひんやり〜」という感じで、ご満悦の表情をしています😊 さて今日も「Bruce Springsteen」の作品の「Amy Macdonald」によるカバーバージョンからです。2009年にリリースされたEP盤「Run」に収録されている「Dancing In The Dark」を聴いてみたいと思います。この曲もアコースティック・ギター１本のシンプルな演奏で「Amy Macdonald」の歌声を補い支えるように演奏されているのがとても印象的です。「Amy Macdonald」の歌声も相変わらずの独特のマニッシュさを持って力強く、これもまた時として崩れそうになりながらも粘り強く歌い上げている。格好良くて素敵なんです😊 なお、「Bruce Springsteen」のオリジナルは1984年のアルバム「Born In The U.S.A.」に収録されています。 「I'm dying for some action」 「I'm sick of sitting 'round here trying to write this book」 「I need a love reaction come on now baby gimme just one look」 「You can't start a fire sitting 'round crying over a broken heart」 「This gun's for hire」 「Even if we're just dancing in the dark」 今日は予定通り、山に行くのは諦めて 在宅での作業を継続しました まだやるべき作業が少し残ってはいますが もう少し頑張って、明日は絶対に山に出かけるぞー💪 お疲れさまでした🌟 身体を壊しませんように、気をつけて🙏 明日も、お互い、一緒に、頑張りましょう😊 #malawi #biodiversity #paragomphus #paragomphus_genei #paragomphusgenei #common_hooktail #gomphidae #asi_es_macro #focus_macro #macrophotos🌷 #dragonfliesofinstagram #nature_spotlight #total_insects #total_dragonflies #ip_nature #ip_insects #ig_drgonflies #beautiful_insects_japan #passion_in_macro #flowerofsoul9 #onceupon_a_macro #exquisitepics20_macro #best_macrohub #nature_spotlight #rebel_macro #マラウイ

Blue Dasher munching! Blue Dashers are one of the most abundant dragonflies in the U.S. and can be found near slow moving water sources, marshes and ponds. Adults have four wings with two noticeable dark streaks in them. Adult males have a chalky, blue color from head to abdomen that ends with a black tip. I captured this image at a local community garden. We are lucky to have a local community garden where you can rent a lot to grow vegetables, flowers or anything you like for a nominal cost. We ourselves rented the lot couple of times. It's really a fun activity especially with kids. Since the community garden is a place having lots of plants, vegetables, flowers, it also becomes a favorite spot of birds, insects, dragonflies and many other animals like squirrels, bunnies. I spotted this blue dasher quietly munching on our recent visit to this community garden. What can I say, simple pleasures of life!
