We believe that if every wedding business and every couple getting married makes a few changes or switches to their day, that is better for the planet while feeling right for them, then this collectively could make a huge impact. This may mean keeping things that aren't eco but choosing some that are. It may mean making difficult decisions due to money/time/family pressures. No one is perfect (us included!) - and we feel embracing changes imperfectly is better than doing nothing. Yesterday there was a lot of healthy debate on a post giving me lots to think about for our shows. But last night it turned nasty resulting in my anxiety going through the roof. Sometimes people forget that we are all human and trying our best. And words have the power to hurt. I therefore removed the post in question as my mental health is more important as is my team’s. There was also a load of libellous accusations written which we won’t tolerate. Being ethical is also about behaviours too. We’ve had a lot of requests from wax melt and jewellery businesses asking for tiny bags, and we couldn’t be happier with these. The special thing about these new bags, is that we managed to certify them as Carbon Neutral from day 1. This has to be one of the most fun favours I've ever got to design and create (yes, I hand cut every single one). This beautiful couple wanted to give their guests a favour they could enjoy at their wedding or take home. It was a great challenge to work out the cutter guide for the wrap-around label and so satisfying when I had perfected it. Each little tag had the guests individual menu selection for an easy reminder. Not only did these look beautiful at their rustic wedding and doubled up as place names, but every single element was recyclable too. I still have a collection in my studio, the eagle-eyed of you might be able to spot them in my desk photo.
