Clio 182 turbo under inspection and now back to full health! π§ β We had this lovely looking Clio 182 turbo in for what was looking to be a small few changes, but it turned out to be quite a bit of work! After finding out that there was poor compression on cylinder 4 due to two valve seats leaking from bent valves, we also found the timing to be out, threads stripped and a split intercooler pipe! After getting it back together we also found issues with the main wiring cable from the battery isolator too! This time last year, we did some testing against standard vs ported inlets, along with stock air box and open filter. The results where interesting and showed that the 197βs run better with a higher power output with an open filter. Big thanks to Alex @ AW Motorworks for using the car as a test subject and proof on a couple things. Hereβs the results: Interesting topic this one! Clio 197/200, do matched inlets work? 120k mile car, stock cams, stock airbox, Toyosport manifold, catback exhaust. Tested on same day, same dyno, just inlets changed (while bolted onto dyno still!). 3lbft drop in the mid range with no difference at high RPM, suggests a loss of air speed in the mid range. Perhaps with cams it could be worthwhile but I see a lot of these manifolds fitted onto stock engines.
