L - different representations of two digit numbers and finding on a number square then jumping to next multiple of ten. M - using cake cases green case starting number blue case number to find the difference between. H - Using a two digit number, adding and one digit number 2-9 and writing as 19+6=15 and also 19+1+5 (jumps to the next multiple of 10 and the ‘extra’ jumps.) When we painted our daffodils a few weeks ago the children had lots of fun. This week the water colour paints have been in provision and have been extremely popular. March has been a month for Girl Scouts! First, the @ursulinenola Brownies had some outdoor fun exploring, learning about nature, and earning their Outdoor Adventurer badges. Then the @stdominicnola Cadettes came out to the Challenge Course for an afternoon of teamwork and leadership development. We love partnering with @gslecouncil troops for local outdoor adventures! They had to represent the correct multiplication with the correct sets eg 2 x 5 - two sets of five - and show the multiplication with the answer. The twists in character development and hidden identities kept us on the edge of our seats. It was incredible to witness the lightbulb moments as we delved deeper into the story. Over in Foundations of Pre-Algebra with Mrs. Murray, we dove into concepts like median, mean, mode, and range, along with exploring triads and the area/perimeter of rectangles. Our leap day games and digital math escape room challenge added a fun twist to our learning journey! In Science with Mrs. Farris, students embraced the scientific method by designing experiments highlighting physical or chemical changes. Embracing the process, we learned the importance of finding value in every outcome, even when it challenges our hypotheses. Lastly, in Elective with Mrs. Boldrick, we celebrated the culmination of our design projects by sharing them with the entire middle school. It was inspiring to see everyone's creativity shine!
